Travis Aune and myself have started a podcast. I wanted to post the link here on twinsdaily in case anyone wants to give it a try. Travis is a podcast veteran, and me, well, I have done 3 episodes in my life, and all 3 are in the past 3 weeks with this podcast. We have had some fun guests lined up so far, and it has been a good experience getting to talk sports with some great people to think point, and I look forward to this podcast continuing for some time going forward.

 

Most of our podcasts so far have been Minnesota Twins related, but we have some other guests and topics lined up into March and April already, which are exciting!

 

We are typically at 9 pm (central) on Thursday evenings. I'll put the link in the description below.

 

Week 1, We talked mostly Twins baseball, but we also touched on the newest signing day/recruiting class for the Gophers and P.J. Fleck. Seth Stohs of twinsdaily.com was our guest.

 

Week 2, We talked mostly Twins baseball again. Our guest that week was none other than Brandon Warne from Cold Omaha.

 

Week 3 (a couple of days ago) we had mlb.com's Rhett Bollinger on and talked mostly twins spring training, along with pitchers and catcher reporting.

 

This upcoming week, we have two guests; Mike Berardino of the pioneer press, and later Jeremy Nygaard of twinsdaily.com This episode will be from 8:30-10pm to accommodate enough time for each guest, as well as Travis and myself. We are very excited to talk twins spring training with Mike, and potential draft picks with Jeremy.

We aren't on ITunes yet, but we are working on getting that done. That said, each episode we have a chat room setup and people can also call in and ask questions if they so please.

 

Our main goal of the podcast is to treat it like a conversation about local Minnesota sports (Twins, Gophers, Timberwolves, Vikings, Wild et al.) I will admit, our first few episodes have been very Twins heavy, but as we (me) learn to grow with the podcast, and people send us questions or thoughts they want to talk about, we are planning on moving forward and branching out in to the other teams in this market.

From 8:30-8:40 pm we will have Mike Berardino of the Pioneer Press. He is down in Fort Myers following the Twins in spring training, and we will ask him for some observations from camp so far.

Then, from 9-9:30 pm, we will talk with Jeremy Nygaard from Twins Daily. That portion of show will focus heavily on the upcoming June amateur draft, for which the Twins have the #1 overall pick.

 

We also plan on touching on some Gopher Basketball, and possibly any moves the Timberwolves make before the 2pm deadline today.
