Figured we could chat about different trades today in this thread that do NOT involve the Twins.

 

Can't believe the Marlins just got Cox for a garbage RP. Good lord, what are the Cardinals thinking?

Mijares traded to SF, just couldn't keep him around for 700K.

I was a bit shocked by this, all American League teams passed on Mijares and the Royals got nothing in return.

 

There must be something else going on, perhaps nobody can stand him or something?

I read an article on this earlier today. It said they tried to trade him but had no interest. The Giants then claimed him off waivers but offered nothing. The Royals would owe in 2.5M next year and have somebody who is a lefty specialist who happens to be able to get righties out as well and the Royal's GM said that is something that Mijares couldn't do so they rid themselves of him. Still very strange they just gave him away and got nothing in return.

well, the Royals win some, and they lose a lot more often. Hehehe. So glad we weren't the ones trying to give him up to somebody who'd take him (although he might be an improvement over Tyler Robertson)
