LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Clear evidence the Rangers FO should be purged. Somewhere between the deliberately satirical call for heads of this post and the five years of consequence-free self parody that is the current Twins front office lies the Sanity Zone of ownership tolerance of executive incompetence.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Why does a "hit by pitch" count as a hit?
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Are we happy with Buxton now? HE WAS LISTENING TO ME ON TWINS DAILY!
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 I like how the Twins have scored 7 runs on just 4 hits. Now we know exactly how much fun it is for other teams to play the Twins the other 161 games of the season...
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Why does a "hit by pitch" count as a hit?No, but 'hit by pitchout' does, because odds.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 boy, ole Dick is turning this into a buzz kill...
Twinsbar107 Verified Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 boy, ole Dick is turning this into a buzz kill...at work so can't hear the game, what is he saying?
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 I've heard rumors these kinds of games are considered fun. Apparently those rumors are like the Baltic Sea UFO.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Byron Buxton flying around the bases, arms flailing from just too much speed. This season is a dumpster fire, but we're starting to see the kids show why this team has a bright future.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 at work so can't hear the game, what is he saying? Droning on and on and on about coaches being responsible for watching players on bases, where fielders are moving, etc.. All this after Buxton's triple. And for good measure, "Centeno runs fast for a catcher"
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 At work just tuning in ... liked seeing that the minute the feed was open.

jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 I could be wrong, but I think this Sano kid has a chance to be pretty good.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 At work just tuning in ... liked seeing that the minute the feed was open. You might want to watch the whole game. This one's a hysterical laffer.
Twinsbar107 Verified Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 I could be wrong, but I think this Sano kid has a chance to be pretty good.if Kepler, Buxton, and Sano all play like today, could be an exciting second half.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 I could be wrong, but I think this Sano kid has a chance to be pretty good.Yeah, but he's gotta work on his swing. That last one was too high. TOO HIGH SAYS I Hey, that rhymed
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 You might want to watch the whole game. This one's a hysterical laffer. Yeah ... a lotta Ranger blunders? Or just lots of hitting?
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Yeah ... a lotta Ranger blunders? Or just lots of hitting?A lotta flops in Texas today. And I ain't talking about the cattle.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Duffey is flying open again, slinging the ball flat. He's got to stay square, show that left hip a little longer, quit falling off towards first base. Ha! Jack Morris just said what I was typing. Great minds drink a lot!!
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Well, now Duffey is handing out cookies.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 If I was calling balls and strikes, I'd have a Roman shield in front of me. Screw those puny little pads!
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 He's too ... relaxed? ... now.I'd call it lack of concentration with a big lead.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Yeah ... a lotta Ranger blunders? Or just lots of hitting? This game's got a little of everything. Ranger blunders, Twins thunder, good and bad pitching from Duffey, and an unexpected power outage from what's supposed to be a great Rangers lineup. The best part is the hitting of Kepler, Buxton and Sano. Very encouraging. Plus good fielding by Sano at 3rd; he belongs there. Time to trade Plouffe.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 I'd call it lack of concentration with a big lead.Yeah ... that's a better way to put it ... which is why I had a pause before and after 'relaxed?'
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Just putting this out there, although it's a 'quiet' thread today ... we could use some volunteers coming up ... take a look and PM Chief ...
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 I'd call it lack of concentration with a big lead.Seems like Duffey is still feeling for the right form. He's trying to get extra mustard on his heater, but he's falling off towards first, which flattens out his stuff. Flat stuff for Duffey is a very bad thing. His success depends on having a high release point and getting a downward plane. BTW, hitters recognize when Duffey flies open early on his heater, and they don't swing because they know that pitch is going to sail. When he shows that left hip a little longer, everything gets better. There's even a drill for that for kid pitchers. You stand them in front of a fence and have them drive their lead hip into the fence, staying sideways. A kid actually showed me that drill. Great idea.
