Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Lineups: BLUE JAYS (24-15)1. Bautista, RF2. Donaldson, 3B3. Encarnacion, DH4. Smoak, 1B5. Saunders, LF6. Tulowitzki, SS7. Martin, C8. Carrera, CF9. Goins, 2B Aaron Sanchez (3-1, 3.29 ERA) TWINS (10-30):1. Dozier, DH2. Nunez, SS3. Mauer, 1B4. Sano, RF5. Plouffe, 3B6. Polanco, 2B7. Grossman, LF8. Centeno, C9. Santana, CF Tyler Duffey (1-2, 1.85 ERA) Five things to think about: 1. I hope I'm not overstepping boundaries by making a spot start for Who Knows Who without first consulting the Powers That Be, especially since the upcoming game probably doesn't deserve attention anyway. 2. Does that qualify as something to think about? 3. When my siblings and I were younger, like all kids, the moment our mom stepped out of the room we'd either get out of control or neglect our duties ... usually both. A classic Mom quote became, "I can't even go to the bathroom without you guys acting up!" 4. I'm beginning to notice a similar pattern with the mods and Twins Daily ... 5. Rewriting the dictionary: Vegetable [vej-tuh-buh l, vej-i-tuh-] noun A generic term designated to random life forms with no regards for scientific data or good breeding. Enjoy the game (if that's even possible), and go Twins (unless you've already given up on them)! Tyler Duffey's out for revenge, so maybe, just maybe ...
scottz Verified Member Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 DID WE WIN YET?! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! OH YEAH!!!! TAKE THAT TWINS DAILY! FEEL MY HEAT! SMELL MY MUSK!
Platoon Verified Member Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 I see Santana is not in Rochester? . I had no problem with the idea of the steal attemp, there was already an out, the Twins had not hit anything for 8-9 innings and we were 10-29. WTH. Sometimes you roll the dice! Maybe it's just me, but the Twins have lost with such stunning consistency, that the thought of them winning a game, doesn't occur to me anymore. And that includes when they are ahead. I now know what the Detroit Lions felt like in the Bud Grant era. They knew they were going to lose, they didn't know how, or when, but no matter the score at anytime in the game, they knew they would lose. And did!
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 On the bright side, it's going to be hard to get swept in a four game series.
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 1. Dozier, DH2. Nunez, SS3. Mauer, 1B4. Sano, RF5. Plouffe, 3B6. Polanco, 2B7. Grossman, LF8. Centeno, C9. Santana, CF Not exactly a confidence-inspiring lineup. What is the insistence on maintaining Dozier at the top of the order? Why not give Dozier the night off, DH Sano or Arcia and get another left hand bat in the lineup versus Sanchez? Two infielders and yet another AAAA waiver castoff manning the OF... management "sending more "messages"?
S. Verified Member Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Wow. That lineup... There have gotta be minor league lineups more daunting than that.
formerly33 Verified Member Posted May 21, 2016 Author Posted May 21, 2016 On the bright side, it's going to be hard to get swept in a four game series. You underestimate this team's potential.
Blake Verified Member Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Thanks, always. I was going to jump in with a game thread, even though the Twins baseball water is colder than a MN lake in January.

It was very uplifting. I really enjoyed this quote: Vegetable [vej-tuh-buh l, vej-i-tuh-] noun A generic term designated to random life forms with no regards for scientific data or good breeding. You pretty much summed up 50% of my family!
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 On the bright side, it's going to be hard to get swept in a four game series. Especially playing at home against a team that is almost as inept as our guys.
S. Verified Member Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Dozier at DH AND leadoff makes me want to punch someone. That someone's last name may or may not rhyme with Smolitor.
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Carlos Santana, Jose Bautista, Joe Mauer (for a while, anyway) all lead-off hitters. Interesting.
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 You underestimate this team's potential. You beat me to the punch on that response.
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 It appears it might be a ghost town of a thread tonight. I think I am going to go do my nails and shave my back.

Blake Verified Member Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Sano showed outfield competence twice in one game. Progress!!
formerly33 Verified Member Posted May 21, 2016 Author Posted May 21, 2016 Why is it that everyone gets real quiet when I enter the room? (Btw, that's another trademark Mom saying.) For posterity, the game is scoreless switching to the bottom of the second.
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Is the Whiffle Bat promotion that the Twins are advertising a commentary by the PR Department?
Dozier's Glorious Hair Verified Member Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 That was pretty, Grossman.
Blake Verified Member Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Grossman for leadoff hitter: Why not?* *as a Twin, Grossman is batting a 1000. Might as well.
mickeymental Verified Member Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 obvious twins all-star selection: grossman.
spinowner Provisional Member Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Just checking in. I think TR should offer Grossman a 5Y 30M extension.
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Is there an "un" post of the thread nomination form?Easy A.M. - I licked my finger and put it to the wind and that's what the forecast indicated to me. Predicting is not an exact science... time will tell.
formerly33 Verified Member Posted May 21, 2016 Author Posted May 21, 2016 Just checking in. I think TR should offer Grossman a 5Y 30M extension.... or trade him for Josh Donaldson.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 That was pretty gross, man. One pitch. After turning on the game that's how many pitches I saw Duffey throw to Donaldson before the one that landed in the upper deck. For everyone with money on the 'Over' for 99 losses, you're welcome.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 39 of 41 games playing from behind. Really, I hope they've kept track of that in baseball history. Can't imagine we wouldn't break the record.
