Aquired: Minor League Free Agent Dec. 2015.

 

Last year Buck was a Dodger minor league free agent signee and spent the year at OKC batting 262/311/374 in 384 at bats. A singles hitter, Britton gives his team defensive flexibility with limited offense. He has averaged all of 5 stolen bases per year so there is not a ton of speed either.

 

Britton is not much of a prospect but he is still playing and still has rookie eligibility so I am honoring him with a prospect page. Buck has played every position in the minors except CF and Catcher (He has a 3.00 ERA in 3 career innings pitched) At age 29 it is doubtful he will ever make a major league team out of Spring Training or be a big contributer at the MLB level but knowing the Twins in Sept. lately, he may get a cup of coffee. So There you are...GO GET EM BUCK!

Buck is a career 274 hitter in nine minor league seasons but is struggling with a 224 average, 590 OPS. He is played 2B,3B,RF, and LF so there is some versatility there but he is just filler at this point

Hitting 203/248/306, Buck has probably earned his release to make room for a promotion. Unfortunately there are not a ton of middle infielders outside Leonardo Reginatto who have earned or are ready for a promotion to AAA. (Reginatto is a little long in the tooth to be much of a prospect but he does not belong at AA and won't be blocking anyone at AAA) Moving Reginatto up makes room for a promotion from Fort Meyers like Nick Gordon. When he is, ready for that, I think Britton will be cut.
