jkcarper Provisional Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Could someone in the Twins Organization please tell me why Brett Doe is not playing in the Playoffs? He is your best defensive 1st & 3rd Baseman and Catcher! Plus he carried you team for nearly half the season with the bat. Doe has only committed 4 errors all year and 2 of those should have been charged to higher draft picked! Someone in the Organization needs to open their eyes and see that they got a steal with Brett Doe in the draft last year. What is going on?
sane Provisional Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Could someone in the Twins Organization please tell me why Brett Doe is not playing in the Playoffs?I'm in my own organization, but Doe's OPS is .621,The other 1B (Vavra's) OPS is .944.That could be a factor.
sane Provisional Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 And the OTHER 1B (Chris Paul)'s OPS is .785 (two teams).
gbg Verified Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 A .473 OPS in the second half, too. Managers are tempted to ride the hot hand in the playoffs, and .473 is pretty far from hot. I doubt Vavra's taking Doe's starts, though, since Vavra hasn't been able to play since May with an ankle injury. Chris Paul is blocking him at first, and Navaretto has caught every game so far. Surprising, in some ways, to see the same catcher in five straight games, but given the results so far, I could see where Jake Mauer would keep running the same lineup out. Doe's had chances and will get more of them.
