I think Buxton just proved half of my point. He got there. Now he's got to swap fields with Hicks... ;-)

I was reading a chat yesterday and someone suggested that at times, depending on who was at bat, that the Twins employ 5 IFs and put Buxton in LF-C and Hicks in RF-C.  Sullivan seemed to think that might make sense sometimes.

In the right circumstances, absolutely.

Love that thinking.

By my count this is Santanas fifth chance to come up big and earn some of his contract. He failed in Toronto and New York and was successful against the Angels and the Astros.

Add a second big-time outing against Houston.

Interesting thought. Usually you'll only see that in the bottom of the last inning with less than 2 out. I can see that happening, for example, on a day when Gibson has his sinker is working.

In a 9th inning deal I could see Nunez at SS shaded towards 3rd (depending on the spray chart) with Escobar 30 feet behind second base, since he's got a gun and is an expert on infield play. Then you put Buxton in left-center and Hicks in right-center.

With the right umpire, this guy's an amazing pitcher.

like I said much earlier, this umpire's K zone is huge.

And the 1B umpire doesn't know what a check swing looks like.

Wow!!! Nice, but if that was the Twins defense, I would be ticked, that has to be caught!!!!

Hicks catches that with ease. We got us a nice, fast outfield now, baby. Cadillac!

Horrible play by Springer.  No need to dive there.  Trying to make Play of the Day catch

I thought exactly the same thing, but on the replay it looked like he may have started to lose his balance. Either way it was catchable, albeit a difficult play.

looked like he was on a dead sprint and wasn't quite in control enough to get his arm up and make the catch. Good effort, though. :)

What a battle, and what a win-  great job by Rosario there.  Now get that new closer-guy to shut 'em down----

Heh-- I got here just in time!

I believe Springer was an CF too, so he needs and should catch that.......but I am smiling that he didnt :)

Springer is a pretty great defender, but he blew that.  It's like he had it in his head he'd have to dive, then realized he didn't have to and that was it
