gunnarthor Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 This is the quick composites from Sickels posts on minorleagueball, a great website if you haven't seen it. i bolded a few of the more interesting tidbits. Trevor Jay - Junior, extremely successful three-year reliever (1.48 ERA, 137/30 K/BB in 122 college innings over three years, just 69 hits, 24 saves) but has the size and stuff to start, low/mid-90s heat, quality slider, solid curve and change-up, no issues with command. Most teams see him as a starter now and he had a chance to be the first pitcher drafted overall. Instead he is the second. The Twins don't have an issue converting relievers into starters. Kyle Cody - Junior, huge at 6-7, 240 and has the arm strength, had designs on first round but stock slipped with command and consistency issues, 4.91 ERA, 63/17 K/BB in 66 innings, 63 hits. Was much better in Cape Cod League, good reclamation project for the right team, which could be the Twins. Travis Blankenhorn, 3B, Pennsylvania HS: Intriguing line drive hitter with good showcase circuit track record. Trey Cabbage, 3B, Tennessee HS: Pure hitter with tools for third base, was getting second round buzz. Alex Robinson, LHP, Maryland: Hard-throwing lefty, seen as second rounder until command issues late. Chris Paul, OF, California: Budget senior, hit .313/.399/.528 this year, hits right. Jovani Moran, LHP, Puerto Rico HS: Very young, projectable; Twins scout Puerto Rico extensively. Kolton Kendrick, 1B, Louisiana HS: Huge power, but is he signable here?
Brandon Winokur Wichita Wind Surge - AA 3B/CF In the final Wind Surge game of the season, Winokur played center field and went 4-for-6 with a double, two runs and three RBI. Explore Brandon Winokur News >
