WATCH: 1982 footage of Twins selecting Kirby Puckett

Check out this footage from Cleveland's WEWS Channel5 of their coverage of the Indians front office in 1982 amateur draft. On the conference call, you can hear a member of the Minnesota Twins request "Puckett. First name, Kirby":

It is hard to find any archived moments like this. Given the actual order of the draft, the station seemed to have spliced in audio later making it seem like the Indians bypassed on Puckett. In reality, only the Blue Jays and Cubs did. Puckett was property of the Twins long before Cleveland could use their 11th pick.

That is interesting. I've never seen video from that. There is so little known about the old January draft. Makes me wonder where Puckett would have been drafted in a June draft? Top 10 rounds maybe?
