Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 You recall a little over a week ago, Anthony Slama was pitching against Norfolk when Miguel Tejada hit a line drive back up the middle. It hit Slama in the leg, and he had to leave the game. He was immediately put on the 7-Day Disabled List with what was called a "Right Leg Contusion." Someone close to the situation informed me over the weekend that after a follow-up X-Ray, they found a 'clean break' in his fibula. It will most likely mean that Slama will be out at least four weeks. This is unfortunate because of how well he was pitching for the Red Wings. He deserves another opportunity with the Twins and this set back certainly does not help.

Cody Christie Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 I was looking forward to seeing what Slama could do if he got called up to the Twins. Now it might not be until the end of the season when he gets a chance with the big league squad.

Gotta wonder what the heck is going on in Rochester - confusing a bruise with a broken bone? Read the story! They put Slama on the 7-day DL right after the game knowing that he had a bruise, and after the swelling went down they took an X-ray and found the break. The training staff made the right call knowing that he wasn't going to be coming back.
greengoblinrulz Provisional Member Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 sounds like the Twins staff missing a broken leg & listing it as a bruise.
