J-Dog Dungan Provisional Member Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 When Marquis clears release waivers, the Twins will have another open spot on their roster. Who will the Twins put on the 40-man roster to replace Marquis? (If I remember previous threads, the Twins already have a spot open on the 40-man roster, which means that if Marquis clears waivers, there will now be only 38 players on the roster)
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 Actually, Marquis' spot was already vacant - as soon as you are Designated for Assignment you are off the 40-man. Then the club has 10 days to figure what what they want to do. They tried to trade him but (shocking!) no takers, so waivers & release it is. His 40-man roster spot was taken by Cole DeVries. They are sitting at 39 (20 pitchers, 19 hitters).
