Scott B will likely advise otherwise.

By then you should have enough info on him about whether or not he will be a catcher and how much slower he would have to go. The other alternative is the old move Mauer to 3B angle for a catcher. It's also been mentioned for Jackson and it would retain defensive value and probably move him along faster. I also have little confidence that Sano will remain at 3B for a long time.
