I think the Twins see another infielder they can use in the outfield. It really makes the other manager think when you play players out of position.

Thank you for another bright ray of sunshine. This is the game thread.

I can't believe how bad our pitching has been. Oh wait, I can. I was asking for more help.

Id say if after 3 starts everyone is still stinking it up, Meyer finds his way to TC.

So I get that the pitching has been awful this season, but how much "more help" could/should the Twins have gotten? Every starter and most of the relievers have been bad (or at least below average) to date...should they have gotten 5 additional starters?

Yup. He came into ST out of shape... and now he's out of here.

Butera for Nunez in a vaccuum is an amazing trade. I have seen him play at Yankee stadium several times, I think the pressure of being the next SS following Jeter affected him a bit, while I don't think he is going to to be some great player, he will certainly be a much needed upgrade for this current team and could surprise some folks.

Purchase a batting tee and 100 balls at Target and load up on hitting.

Yeah, I agree- he's a potential asset.

ok...when are we gonna warm somebody up?

It's just not Correia's day and we have a bullpen full of pitchers. Sounds like Deduno is getting warm.

Better than Butera for sure.

Also you can never have too many Eduardos on one team.

Nunez can play SS and 3B? Or just 3B? Either way, he's still at AAA so it's not an issue right now.

UZR and Range KILLED him last year but prior he was close to average as a SS, from the eyebal test (take with 10 grains of salt) I think he has the chance to play a solid SS. Lifetime .692 isn't going to set the world on fire, but it is probably at least .100 more than what our current SS options would give us. Plus he has a little speed and some upside left.

What do his D metrics look like over the last several years? Not enough games played to get anything meaningful out of them?

Kuble is really impressing me. I'm not sure why we got rid of him in the 1st place

We didn't get rid of him. He left as a free agent, likely for more money.

Good to hear. Looks like a smart move, and another sign that Ryan is back in business. In fact, it's so encouraging it's enough to make up for the disappointment of knowing that there's now a much lower probability that we'll get to hear Bert's search-and-destroy pronunciation skills tackle 'Sulbaran'. fwiw, my money was going to be on 'Sulburban', pronounced like the SUV.

It annoys me that Gardy leaves Correia in for more pitches when he's getting lit up than in his first outing in Chicago when he was sailing along after a rough couple innings.

Thank goodness. Was afraid I'd make it through a home game without hearing 'Come on Eileen' again.

Poor old Johnnie Ray...
