Unofficial Minor League Report -Affiliates get slammed or vice versa

Twins Video

Talk about Irony...

Rosario hits a slam for the Red Wings....they lose 6-4

Sano slams for the Lookouts..they lose 6-4

Thank Goodness FT Meyers didn't hit a slam allowing them to win with a dominant pitching performance by Chin Wei Hu...7-0

The big team wins on a walk off hr by Plouffe and

my man Escobar shines..he first throws a runner out at the plate

Then adroitly swings at a horrible inside pitch that he knew the catcher would have trouble with scoring a run from third..

In his last at bat...knowing he needed to be replaced defensively...he feigns injury, so twins pr for him...my dude is a GENIUS

Dont tell me we can win without him in the lineup!

There aren't many games lost when your team hits a grand slam.  To have the top two affiliates both get them on the same day and both lose is pretty rare.

Esobar's throw was perfect--an easy hop for Herrmann to catch and then block the plate, right on the money.  BTW, did anyone think Herrmann applied the tag too high and maybe the runner got in?

On Escobar (and less so) Nuñez playing the outfield, with a few more games under their belts, I think they can be OK to pretty good.  Nuñez clanked an easy fly ball in his only start, but he has pretty good range and you'll remember he threw out a runner in that start, as well.  Both guys know how to charge balls and make good throws.  Where they would suffer is getting breaks on fly balls and going to the wall.
