Varland Lifts Saints Past Bats 5-0

Saint Paul, Minnesota - A strong pitching performance led by Saints starter Louie Varland lifted the Saints past the Louisville Bats by a score of 5-0 on Friday night. The Saints improved to 65-46 on the season and 22-15 in the second half. The game started in an hour and thirty-six-minute rain delay, but when the game started Royce Lewis got the Saints on the board with a solo home run. Toledo Scored 6 Unanswered, Saints Home Run Overturned

Saint Paul, Minnesota - If you are coming out to the ballpark on a Saturday night you never know what you may see. Kyle Garlick had a home run overturned and Saints manager Toby Gardenhire was ejected all in the first inning. The Saints would still find a way to get a few runs across in the first, but in the end, it would be the Mud Hens that would get the last laugh in a 7-3 win over the Saints in front of 9,364. St. Paul Debut for Keuchel, Cole Sands Rehab, 10-6 Saints Victory

Saint Paul, Minnesota - Dallas Keuchel made his second appearance with the Saints on Saturday night and first appearance at CHS Field. The 35-year-old worked 4.1 innings allowing zero runs on three hits in a 10-6 Saints victory over the Gwinnett Stripers at CHS Field in front of 8,715. Severino Leads Saints Past Indianapolis 7-6, Split Series, Roster Update

Saint Paul, Minnesota - Yunior Severino continued his massive week at the plate going 3-for-4. The Saints had two triples in the sixth inning that helped the Saints to overcome the Indianapolis Guardians by a score of 7-6 and split the six-game series. Saint Paul, Minnesota - It was hot and humid at CHS Field on Tuesday night. However, the bats were hot too. The Saints collected fourteen hits in a 14-7 win over the Toledo Mud Hens (Detroit Tigers) in front of 7,109. The Saints improved to 56-40 on the season.  Louie Varland started for St. Paul. Saint Paul, Minnesota - The St. Paul Saints had three players on MLB Rehab Assignments in the lineup on Sunday afternoon. Byron Buxton sent a ball to the warning track in the bottom of the ninth but in the end, it was dominant Mud Hens pitching that helped Toledo get past the Saints 3-2 on Sunday afternoon in front of 6,003. Saint Paul, Minnesota - It was a combination of offense, defense, and a strong pitching performance from Saints pitchers that lifted the Saints past the Indianapolis Guardians by a score of 4-1 on Thursday night. Saint Paul, Minnesota - On Friday night the Saints took a two-run lead to the ninth and pitching struggled to close the game; however, on Saturday night the exact opposite happened. Saint Paul, Minnesota - Royce Lewis began an MLB Rehab Assignment on Tuesday night. Saints got Winning Run Aboard, Comeback Falls Short in 5-4 Loss

Saint Paul, Minnesota - Mark Contreras stepped to the plate with two outs in the bottom of the ninth with a chance to win the game. With the winning run on second the Saints were unable to complete a comeback. Contreras flew out to right, which ended the game, and the Saints fell 5-4 to Toledo. Saint Paul, Minnesota - The Saints and Mud Hens started the final series of the regular season on Tuesday night. The Saints carried a shutout into the ninth inning. In fact, the Saints were one out away from a shutout, but Dillon Dingler had other plans. Saint Paul, Minnesota - The breakthrough inning for the Saints came in the fourth and was capped off by a home run off the bat of Jair Camargo, along with a solid outing from starter Randy Dobnak the Saints defeated the Louisville Bats 6-3 on Wednesday afternoon in front of 8,368. Saint Paul, Minnesota - A tie game going into the ninth inning, but just like Friday night the Saints ran into some trouble in the ninth and would drop the series finale to the Durham Bulls (Tampa Bay Rays) by a score of 5-3. Saint Paul, Minnesota - The way series are set up a sweep does not happen very often. However, the Saints overcame the odds-on Monday evening in a come from behind win to sweep the Gwinnett Stripers in front of 9,028 fans. Saints Comeback Fell Short, Roster Update

Saint Paul, Minnesota - The Indianapolis Guardians (Pittsburgh Pirates) pitching staff silenced the Saints offense most of Tuesday night; however, in the ninth the Saints would bring the tying run to the plate. Saint Paul, Minnesota - A monster home run by Yunior Severino was not enough to lift the Saints past the Indianapolis Guardians on Saturday night. Indianapolis defeated the Saints by a score of 5-4 in front of 6,188. Saint Paul, Minnesota - The Saints and Columbus Clippers (Cleveland Guardians) started a six-game series on Tuesday night. For the first time since June 16th, nine innings was not enough to decide the game. The Saints hit a walk-off sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 11th inning to get past the Clippers 5-4 in front of 6,530. Saint Paul, Minnesota - Joe Ryan began his MLB Rehab Assignment on Friday night. The Saints offense collected eleven hits, along with the performance of Ryan the Saints defeated the Indianapolis Guardians 8-5 in front of 8,035. Saint Paul, Minnesota - For the second time this week nine innings was not enough to decide the game between the Saints and Columbus Clippers. On Thursday it took ten. Saint Paul, Minnesota - Rain, rain, go away. The Toledo Mud Hens and St. Paul Saints wanted to play on Saturday night, but mother nature had other plans. The Saints and Mud Hens game was canceled due to rain. Saint Paul, Minnesota - Bryan Sammons tossed six dominant innings for the Mud Hens. A costly Toledo error in the seventh inning helped the Saints score four unearned runs. Greene and Lewis on Rehab, Saints top Bats 8-5

Saint Paul, Minnesota - A unique start to the game with the first three hits coming in the form of solo home runs. The Saints were able to hang around when Hunter Greene (MLB Rehab Assignment) was pitching before breaking through, scoring five in the fifth to pick up an 8-5 win over the Louisville Bats on Thursday night in front of 8,456.
