  1. so he didn’t skip his tryout?, settling lawsuits keep you out of court
  2. Nike pays him more than any football team would, he had a chance to come back and chose to skip his tryouts, he hasn’t sacrificed anything
  3. There is more than one side to this story, there’s not a right and a wrong side , there are two sides, maybe more even
  4. Jacob Blake is handcuffed to his hospital bed
  5. what does that have to do with anything on this thread
  6. Lots of games being played , the Brewers game is on, in Milwaukee
  7. There will be consequences, there are a lot of fans who won’t agree, enough to have an impact should they choose to go that route. These players sometimes overestimate their appeal. As far as wins and losses or possible loss of pay, you’re correct if management supports the players then everything is good. Well there is the League too, but I think it’s safe to assume MLB supports the players too.
  8. maybe, it’s possible they lose fans too
  9. yes management supported them , their choice, but you , not management, asked why there should be consequences, not your choice.
  10. I doubt any “ punishment “ is coming, maybe loss of pay, which is not punishment, it’s what should be expected
  11. Everyone is allowed to make peaceful protests, but if I chose to miss work to protest I wouldn’t get paid, and I wouldn’t expect to be either.
  12. Im sure there are fans who wanted to see a game tonight. I’m sure there are players who wanted to play. Most people are required to do there jobs and if there bosses don’t want to pay them for not showing up, it’s not necessarily a matter of heart. We all live with the choices we make. I doubt the players who decided not to play are concerned about pay or the win loss aspect, they did what they felt they had to do and should be willing to accept whatever comes down because of it.
  13. They chose not to play a game in a season where there are no fans. I don’t necessarily disagree, it’s their league their career, their choice. I won’t miss them, they are just not that important
  14. I just got there, I did overlook the possibility of deleted posts. My mistake, I never see politics here, maybe thinly veiled politics, but I normally post on game threads. It’s a good site, deleting points is the owners prerogative, but it leads to confusion when you see the post condemning them but not the condemned posts
  15. That’s fine, all other sports are doing the same. I did notice one of the other moderators locked a thread because he saw evidence of thinly veiled racism. Just because people disagree with whether or not the games should be played really has nothing to do with racism. The term is really thrown around freely these days. So much that it’s losing its meaning. And the message from the moderator on this site was this: If you disagree with what the players decide to do you must be a racist. Well, I disagree
  16. Sure, as long as he leaves his scissors at home
  17. Pitching is what they need, first and foremost, pitching is the reason they get swept in the playoffs, has been for years, fix the pitching first and the other questions are much easier to answer
  18. There’s something to be said about a player just playing one position and perfecting his play at that position. The Twins moved players around a lot this season and their defense wasn’t good. Injuries played a part, sure but the Twins looked like a roster of utility players. Each player needs to play a large pct of games at his primary position in order to be his best at that position.
  19. Berrios was not good in game 1 , his curve ball was a non issue, he threw way too many pitches which is why he had to be relieved early. If you actually believe that that performance should get your team a win then you really don’t get what it takes to win in the post season,
  20. not at all suggesting they should be happy to be there. As much disappointment the fans feel, I’m pretty sure the players feel it much worse. But, they are only half a team without some quality starters. I think the last two games makes that crystal clear
  21. The Twins were a big surprise this season. I’m disappointed as are many that they haven’t played better in NY. But unless you catch lightning in a bottle you just can’t win in the playoffs without reliable starting pitching. The lack of it affects all aspects of the game. Slow innings with upwards of twenty pitches has the defense on its heels, puts way too much pressure on the offense and is a negative force to the overall morale of the team. Why the FO passed on pitching help this year is a big question mark, hopefully they fix it in the off season. If they don’t then their goals are not the same as most loyal fans. I will watch until this series is over. Can the Twins win three in a row? Of course they can. The odds are against them for sure but they won’t give up. I don’t believe a sweep though defines this team in any way. These players had nothing to do with past teams performances and I certainly don’t believe in childish curses. Win or lose the Twins will be back, they definitely have something to build on here. Fixing the pitching should obviously be the top priority and we will all be watching closely. I am not embarrassed by this team, they are relatively young and exceeded all expectations for this season. They have no realistic chance for a Championship this season and to say its World Series or bust this season just isn’t practical. But it’s never too late to catch lightning in a bottle! It’s baseball anything can happen. Win or lose though, I’m still a Twin’s supporter and a fan. Go Twins!
  22. Grade 1 ankle sprain, Twins have til Friday to set their roster. I’m going with Arraez being good to go. Keep hitting more homers than the Yankees and more importantly scoring more runs per game. Go Twins!!
