  1. Two Yellow Jackets that write and talk about sports. I'm still going to go with "Willy Wallaby Liquorice" as the best thing that comes from Perham Minnesota. I'm addicted to it!
  2. Was Cuddyer really a Hall of Fame Twin? He really didn't find a position until the last couple years. Bruno had six 20 plus Homer seasons and left in a bad trade. He was more deserving than Cuddyer.
  3. Most of he pitching the Twins have dealt for or drafted have one thing in common "above average Curveball". Most scouts indicate this as plus as it is hard to improve a curve. This must be a Falvine requirement. Who closes now?
  4. Enlow and Leach will be the keys to this draft, for a pitching starved team and league. I hope he moves fast through the minors.
  5. What happened to Kohl Stewart and Tyler Jay? Will they pitch again this year?
  6. Just wanted to say thanks for your Post game articles. Good job! I do have one comment on the games, since when is it a hit when a outfielder gets his glove on the ball like the double given to Escobar. The official scoring on hits is terrible, if you get your glove on the ball in the infield or outfield its an error unless your kid is playing T-ball. Maybe they should have a stat for bad calls against a pitcher.
  7. Where is Blayne Enlow rating? He may end up being the best player drafted.
  8. After reading all the comments everyone is tired of losing. I get it but, to win 77-83 games is not winning long term. To get better the team needs more major league pitching. Santana is having a above average year in some sense. He is benefiting from good defense behind him, because his stats don't bear that improvement, his ERA is the result of defense. He is a 13-11 pitcher over his 13 years in the majors. He has went over 11 wins 5 times. He may exceed 13 win this year. Teams that are going for it in 2017 may over pay for him. The Twins don't match up with Houston, Cleveland, NY, Boston or Toronto with present Staff. They need to get what they can now for Santana, his value is at its highest. The pitchers in the minors are at least two years away. I want to win today also, but be realistic 2017 is not the year to go for it.
  9. The Twins need to be sellers, as reality is not a bad thing at this point. I think this weekend should reinforce the need to continue the rebuild, and that it takes time. The idea of adding a couple players and they can contend is a dream. Market Santana, Dozier, and hope Santiago comes back and put up good numbers in July. These are the only viable trade chips. This is still a Low 70 win team, without pitching.
  10. I would expect Dan San to be gone when Adrianza is off DL. Grossman is a terrible defensive OF. The 4th OF should be a defensive replacement, plus the 3 starters will struggle at times and need a break.
  11. Was the real reason Park was sent to AAA, because Molitor and DaT couldn't agree on keeping Haley? Molitors compromise with the Whiz kids was to keep Duffey for long relief. DaT trying to work out a trade for Haley? His statement "short term" seems to indicate more moves before Monday. They need to find a defensive 4th outfielder on waivers.
  12. I will agree that Danny Santana will go north with the team as the 25 man. They will be selling t-shirts with "DanSan 25th man" on front and "no entiendo WAR" on back.
  13. Buxton's health is always going to be a concern because of his speed and the way he plays. This is why I don't see Grossman as an outfielder candidate. I cover my eyes every time the ball is hit his way. He makes Delmon Young look like Willie Mays. Keeping Stubbs would be good insurance for defense. The other outfielder for the first half of the season will be Danny Santana, because he can play multiple positions in outfield and infield. Grossman should be competing with Park for the DH which Park is winning at the moment. Winner getting the 40 man spot. Granite is a second half or replacement for long term injury to Buxton or if Kepler has sophomore slump, which is a very real possibility. Let the Danny Santana hate begin, but he will be on the opening day roster.
  14. How about moving Dozier to 3rd base. Less ground to cover, ARM? His bat would fit this position fine for the next 5 years.
  15. The key to your article is "Veteran Leadership". The Twins had Veteran Leadership during the 2015 season with Hunter. When he left, they searched for that person. Dozier tried to fill the shoes, but it seemed to effect his play in the field. Nunez was more of the Veteran on the field up to the time he was traded. I remember the night that Sano stood at 3rd base with his back to the outfield, while the ball blew back to about 10 feet behind him. Nunez stood and gave Sano and earful about getting his head in the game. Nunez was the only source of "Veteran Leadership" at the time. The Twins need a Veteran Leader on this team. Their is no Stat for leadership, that's where the GM needs to know his players.
  16. I will agree with you on the 3 points.Twins fans always over value their players. Dozier has more value for the Twins than he has for anyone else. Teams want younger players with less financial obligation. The Twins will not get fair trade value for him in the present market. Their are to many good players at 2nd in the league. Quality dept in the infield for the Twins is a bigger concern in my estimation than a trade. Pitching with holes in the infield just shifts the problems. Dozier will probably get you 1 pitching prospect in 2018 at the trade deadline, same as you will get today.
  17. How do you replace Dozier's bat? Polanco has better average, less power he looks stiff in the field. DeLeon is a 24th round 25 year old #3 projection. He could be a Jim Perry or Phil Humber. I don't like plugging a hole with hope and opening up a bigger hole in the infield. Who backs up Sano, a defensive nightmare and a hamstring waiting to happen if Polonco is at 2nd. I keep Dozier, wait a year and see how the arms at AA progress. If you trade Dozier you need a back up plan for the infield. Knoblauch to Dozier was 15 years of pain. Being creative sometime is taking your time.
