    Wait. WTF is Turley not getting the call?? I mean DAMN. That's probably the most effective, efficient pitching I've ever heard of. Great starts from all around today! More Ks than a Kellogg's factory!

    Wow. 11k in 7 with no walks. Impressive. And he threw 72% strikes. I didn't think Wells would top his 14 k but he damn well might before all is said and done.

    Rortvedt was expected by most to stay in EST. He's batting .087 (!!) in low A. Is there a scenario where they'd send him back to EST or just wait til E town starts and see if he emerges slightly above arctic cold before sending him down?

    Can we just trade the starting rotation for CR with Ft Myers? 23k by the starters in the last 3 games!

    Man that was crazy that Wells walked that many. Very unlike him. But the good news is he gave up only one hit and had 6k in 4. Definitely something to build on. And KUDOS to Del Rosario. A 77 game score! Very nice job. Good season ahead for the Popcorn

    Agreed. I totally think this guy has a real shot. They got a bargain on him. I watched him in E town strike out 14 in 7 innings with one hit. And his stuff is filthy. Such downward plane and hard breaking stuff with a slow curve that he throws for strikes that often buckles hitters. And to Mike, yes I suppose you're correct. I'm just sayin there are definitely some guys who have slipped through the draft. And many guys who were busts that were over drafted. Do higher draft picks make it more often because they are that much better? Or because they have investments into them and they get more leeway and attention to develop? Take Patrick McGuff. He was very good his rookie year and he was near the end of the draft. He did way better than guys who got hundreds of thousands of dollars. But in general I do agree that late round guys don't make it as often, but guys like Wells are the ones who make the scouts look like Nostradamus. And top 1/3 of the draft isn't that far off in the big picture. Let's just hope a few of them turn out to be great!

    John Smoltz Andy Pettite Jake Peavey James Shields Derek Holland Sergio Romo All were late round draft picks. Hell Nolan Ryan was a 12th round pick. Draft is merely a snapshot in that moment of time the draft happens to take place. Very presumptuous to assume one guy might be a reliever.

    I mostly agree with Cody Christie's list. But McGuff had a great run until lately he's had a few shaky outings. Without question, Wells has been the best pitcher lately, (and frankly many of his numbers are better than Ynoa). Bo has been fantastic as well. Gonna be a good instructs to watch.

    Little early to tell for sure but another Wells is definitely on my future watch list, Tyler Wells. That 14 k game was amazing. Assuming he and Lachlan are unrelated since Lach is Australian and 5'8" and Tyler is 6'8"!! But TW last 4 games have 18 innings, 2 runs and 27k. Take out that one 6run game and his era is in the low twos

    I think Wells is gonna be a beast. Total sleeper and bargain at the 15th round. The guy is 6'8" and throws from the top. Huge downward plane. Decent fastball 90-94 with a lot of late movement, very dirty curve and good slider. Change is about 8-10mph slower and moves a lot. Batters seem to have a hard time squaring up on him. Not a lot of hard hit balls and no homers given all season. Definitely watch him at instructs, could be a real future here.
