    So you're saying if it doesn't work out for him in the front office there's a job waiting for him in the Twins bullpen.

    I just would think that Falvey and Pohlad would have discussed a game plan already, I'd think that would be part of the interview process. It also seems extremely un-Twinslike to not let the current crew know if they are going to get axed. It seems hard to believe no one has let it slip by now that a bunch of them are getting fired.

    I'd like to hear more updates on this situation. I'd think that Falvey would have an idea who his GM would be, and I'd think we'd be hearing some rumors or ideas. I'm starting to fear all that's going to happen is Falcey is installed at the top and Anthony and company all stay.

    Parker, after Derek Falvey hires you as a member of his staff, will you still contribute here?

    McPhail replaced Morris with a really good John Smiley and chili Davis with Dave Winfield. There's no reason to think McPhail wouldn't have at least continued to use free agency as a tool unlike Ryan. If he wouldn't have continued to use free agency, that surely would have been on the owner, not him.

As far as I'm concerned, there needs to be no attempt made to maintain any continuity. If having no continuity leads to chaos and anarchy in the first year, well, it wouldn't look any different than what we have now. Blow. It. Up. I'm also still not sold on the idea that Molitor is a lock to be back. For those that have been clamoring for Sandy Alomar Jr., well here's your conduit.

    He's not the only one. Too many pitchers have struggled for reasons that are barely if at all detectable. I know we are currently operating under the assumption that the field staff will be back, but on the off chance that the new suits convince Pohlad to let them start anew with the coaching staff, I'd like to see what the new guys do with guys like Tonkin, May, Chargois, Gibson and Barrios. Their stuff isn't coming close to matching their results, something just doesn't add up.

    Are we certain that these men are actually interviewing for the POBO gig? Because I haven't once heard the front office mention that they'll even hire one, it was only an inside scoop by some of the local media. Even if they do hire one, do we know that these four are the candidates for the job? I haven't once seen one of these reports mention mention that these guys are interviewing for the POBO job, only that they are interviewing for front office/leadership roles. We assume the POBO would be hired first as that would be the logical thing to do, but are we positive they aren't in fact interviewing for the GM job?

    Any and every team will want to do #2, but it's not possible. If Ervin Santana was a free agent, he'd probably be overwhelmingly viewed as the top target except for those teams that are confident in 37-year-old Rich Hill.

    If this team gets an analytically inclined GM, he or she better be analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of players from a numbers standpoint. If Pohlad has his say about the 2017 field staff, the manager sure isn't going to do it. What good is it going to this team to modernize the front office if the field staff won't implement their ideas?

    I want a new GM to come in here and tell Kyle Gibson that his sinker isn't as good as he thinks it is, so stop throwing it with two strikes.

    I agree. We wouldn't need a new GM to ride with those options. People like to say you don't change just for the sake of changing. In this case I think you do. Blow it up, try different pieces and see what sticks until you get it right.

    They have an award for the best pitcher, they really need to make one solely and implicitly for the best hitter. The MVP award does not dictate that it is for the best hitter. One additional high profile award would stop this yearly contentiousness among fans and sportswriters.

    Dang, Cherington wasn't employed by a MLB team at that time so he wasn't listed in any media guides. Seriously though, Pohlad and St Peter can't afford any more mis-steps in this process or the new people who are brought in may viewed with more skepticism than hope, and I sure don't want that. This change is supposed to unite us in optimism.

    So Cherington is taking a VP job in Toronto. Were the Twins not asking him to interview for the POBO job, or is being second in command in Toronto more attractive to being the top dog in Minnesota?

    And while Jack is a friend of the site, posting respectfully is a requirement here and thus the other men listed above deserve the same consideration, whether posters approve of their jobs or not. And aside from Anthony, and perhaps Deron Johnson, there is probably next to no information we as fans have that would indicate how any of them perform at their jobs.

    Well at least we can write serious complete sentences. I love the Vikings, but there is definitely a cultural difference between football and baseball fans.

    Hey that was post #8000 for me. Too bad I didn't write something more thoughtful and timeless. Maybe I should try again; I can just go back and delete a post or two about how I thought the Twins should draft Mark Appel instead of Buxton.
