  1. Let's start summer off right...with a win over Cleveland!

  2. Nice write-up, Ted. Having not seen the game, that's a nice look at a pretty critical spot. The inability to throw would be base stealers out will always drive me nuts. But, seeing as that nobody runs anymore, that's not as important these days. May as well take advantage of pitch framing while you can.
  3. Of those listed, Sano is easily the most expendable. Problem being, he's also the one with the lowest value. Assuming they aren't sellers, it makes no sense at all to trade Correa. With Lewis out, there simply isn't another player to step into that role for a playoff caliber team.
  4. The inconsistency with the bats is wearing on me. For the most part, the pitching is still doing their job. But the bats disappear about as often as they put it together.
  5. That series could have gone better.

  6. And the bats go right back to being ice cold. The pitching gave up 4 HRs, which is one fewer hit than the Twins bats mustered. Not a recipe for success.
  7. Bundy goes 8. As expected. Nice to see the bats break out. Now do it again!
  8. Welcome back, Kirilloff!

    Hopefully you're back for good!

  9. You've been hanging out with the wrong goats then!
  10. How sustainable is Cleveland's run? That doesn't mean that they can't overtake the Twins for the division, but I doubt they're going to sustain this level of play over the long haul. Frankly, I'd rather have someone pushing the Twins than just cake walking their way through the rest of the season. I always like to have to look over your shoulder a little bit. Keep the foot on the gas.
  11. To say that luck has zero part in this is fool hardy. It's not likely the primary factor, but it's most certainly not zero. That works in both ways, both positive and negative.
  12. This is interesting. Glad to see that my eyes aren't deceiving me though. It certainly feels like they should be scoring more runs.
  13. I'm not really either, but Urshela is up for arbitration next season and is a FA the year after. There's some time to work something else out in that timeframe. Arraez is an option though. Even if they trade Miranda, there's some depth there.
  14. He doesn't have a lot of experience at 1B, so I understand to a degree there. He's played plenty of 3B. He's still young, he still can improve at both. Kirilloff is a much better 1B.
  15. For the right deal, I wouldn't hesitate to include him. Urshela will be around for two more years or you can play Lewis there should Correa stay, or Arraez. There are options for fill a 3B depth hole on the roster.
  16. I put money on "ironing his shirt while wearing it" over the weekend. I tried to get a jump on the handicappers.
  17. Corner types are what this organization has an abundance of. If you don't like Miranda or Arraez at 1B, the heir apparent is tearing up AAA on the other side of the river. Mancini makes little sense and a poor use of assets. Castillo has my interest piqued and would pursue heavily. As does Contreras, but I don't see that happening.
  18. I was kinda thinking the same thing. I basically figured that we know he's an on base machine, he's doing it at a higher level so far this season. Probably not flying under the radar so much.
  19. My point was that you were stating his current BA and HR totals. If you were expecting more, the league as a whole is down, so when comparing that against the rest of the league, it's not as bad as it seems. Not sure what relevance Sano has to the conversation.
  20. Batting averages and slugging are down across baseball. That doesn't invalidate your point, but does provide context.
  21. I didn't see the game, but it's good to read that Ryan looked pretty good. The stamina will come back. Not too much of a surprise that he got touched up as his velo dipped.
  22. The streakiness of the bats series to series is kinda odd. It's like a switch is flipped as they go into a new series. Apparently they need to face better pitching in order to hit!
  23. Nice bounce back after yesterday's collapse. Good to see the bats putting together big innings as well as putting the ball over the fence. And another good outing from Smeltzer. I don't know how he do, but I'm glad he do and I enjoy watching him do. No idea how long it lasts, but I'll gladly take it while Iit does.
  24. Lewis can't get a break. I feel pretty bad for the guy. I hope he has a full and speedy recovery!
