I'd think any pitchers that they're interested in would be up right away but position players would likely be called up later as you said. Buxton would be in that conversation too I think, but I'd prefer to keep him down until their season is over.
I'd like to see Wheeler, Garver, Vargas, Baxendale, and probably Palka. I'd leave Buxton in AAA until their season is over, then bring him up and play him every day for the rest of the way.
I agree with pretty much everything you said. I especially agree with this part. Even the Tigers' radio guys were lamenting this very topic during yesterday's game. They said that this team's prospects would come up and be able to play right away and play great fundamental baseball. That's completely gone now. They weren't afraid to point out the erosion of this teams ability to develop players that know how to play good fundamental baseball. That's a huge issue in my view. Even if you don't have great talent, you should be able to play fundamental baseball that will get you by well enough to hang around as a bench player. This version of the Twins is fundamentally stupid, playing some of the dumbest baseball I've ever seen. The record reflects that.
To an extent, I agree. Some guys are just pull hitters though. They are what they are. Mauer lives going oppo, to almost a detriment. Generally though, good things do happen when all fields are used. Most of the greatest hitters have/had the ability to use all fields.
I'm not a big Rush fan either. I can't get past Geddy Lee's voice for some reason. As a music lover, I appreciate them for what they are and they are fantastic musicians. Neil Young is a constant on the turntable or Spotify when he still had his music streaming.
Yeah, I'm not sure I could explain it in 2001, let alone today or 2025. He did have that run where he was seemingly all over the place. I was never a fan, but I did like him in Road Trip.
I was hoping that you'd touch on this, but is there a Canadian exchange rate for losses? By simply crossing the border, is the Twins current loss streak more like 5.75 games? Might it be beneficial for them, perhaps even us, if they stayed north of the border?
Anyone able to opine on how they're approaching Buxton's swing? I know it's a small sample, but with two homers in consecutive days it appears as though the pop is at least showing glimpses again. Have they shortened up the swing? Figured out his timing?
Once you've had a concussion, it's also easier to get another one. They could be limiting his risk exposure to more of them. I'm not suggesting that they've handled him correctly or not, but I think this is a part of the discussion.
