  1. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.
  2. I think he has with the bat, but there are probably better defensive options at the positions he plays best, 2B and 3B. I want no part of him in LF. The one thing he does provide as a backup is a competent backup at 2B and 3B. He can reliably be cycled in and out of the lineup at either position, plus DH and be a good bench bat when he's not playing. He should get plenty of playing time that way with the way Rocco rests players. That's not a bad thing, IMO.
  3. He's getting left to the wolves, so that's probably the plan. They'll need to bring up an arm for tomorrow.
  4. At least the weak part of their lineup is coming back around...
  5. The Alcala injury certainly doesn't help matters either.
  6. Must have made the appropriate offerings or sacrifices earlier.
  7. Right, I follow the logic. But if the game is called, it's a legal game since 4.5 innings have been played. They wouldn't have to finish the inning in that case.
  8. So we're not supposed to answer your question? They'd win in that scenario going ven they're the home squad. Not positive that would be the case if they were the visiting team though.
  9. It's a pleasure to watch a team that does the small things well. Too bad it's against the home squad.
  10. Got some thunder in the south suburbs. Not playing Correa could become a big deal.
  11. Ha! I missed an inning... didn't realize that it was the 4th already...
  12. Or at least if/when it rains. A delay will definitely play into that.
  13. I know it's still early, but this feast or famine trend is getting old.
  14. I think this is a good point. He hits the ball hard enough that he'd still hit the ball plenty far with a flatter swing. And to all fields since it takes some of the timing out of the equation since his bat would be in the zone longer to get to some of the pitches he hasn't timed out correctly. My question would be, is his miss % in the zone related to only to how long the bat is in the zone? How much of that is him pulling off of the ball with his head, taking his eyes off of it in the process. No idea how to measure that, but I've always wondered that with him. When he makes good contact, you see his head and eyes following the ball out. When he misses, he's looking into the 3B dugout.
  15. Kershaw v Paddack?  If only the weather was this NL West-esque.

  16. Excellent write up! Great to see Lewis come out of the gate on fire. Wish Martin was too, but it's still early on both accounts.
  17. Keep playing with fire and you'll eventually get burned.
