    Yes! He totally went nuts that last month of 2009. Went on a HR-tear. Was awesome... wound up with 32 for the year. Really stepped up when Morneau went down; that's right. Would hope he makes the Twins Hall of Fame. Absolutely deserves it. One of our team's leaders (on & off field) for a decade, and NEVER shied away from a new position. Always respected the game, played hard, and played the right way. Can't ask for anything more.

He said he'd do whatever we needed him to do." Quote from Mauer after the game: "...hopefully, it's just today and we can get some guys in here, and it's just a one-time deal." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not exactly the type of reaction you're looking for when you ask your star player to help the team. Don't be surprised if that's his reaction when he's asked to step up again. Never heard quotes like that from Cuddy.

    The ones that stick out most to me are the devastating back-to-back losses to NY and PIT. Perk blew them both. Games that we blow early are going to happen, but the ones that are in late innings and we are winning or tied, are hard to swallow when we lose.
