  1. Diamond threw only 82 pitches in 8 innings today -- pretty impressive.
  2. Another nice play by Dozier -- now we need a run against the Reds' closer. Wife is pestering me to leave for Costco. I will be in big trouble if this goes to extra innings.
  3. In my dreams for sure, but probably not in the real world.
  4. In hindsight, I wish that this prediction had been correct.
  5. And for the rest of this season -- final inter-league game of this year.
  6. Diamond can help himself with a home run here.
  7. The Reds' announcers attributed the lapse to a lack of familiarity with National League baserunning strategy.
  8. But Diamond makes it moot by getting the final out. If Diamond keeps pitching like this, the one run lead may hold up.
  9. Diamond is throwing strikes and trusting his stuff. A complete game seems possible here.
  10. Nice play by Reds second baseman to get Willingham at the plate. Not a great slide by Willingham, who seemed surprised.
  11. Terrible baserunning by the Reds gets Diamond out of the inning. Diamond has thrown only 60 pitches through 6 innings.
  12. Diamond strikes out Votto with 3 pitches -- Reds' announcers are very impressed with Diamond.
  13. After 6 consecutive strikeouts, Plouffe finally gets another home run -- his 15th of the year.
  14. Back to back strikeouts by Diamond -- now we need runs.
  15. Why do teams like the Angels and Dodgers always seem to have a lot of promising pitching prospects, and the Twins do not? Is this because some teams are better at scouting than others? Is this due to some problem in the front office? Or is there some other reason?
  16. I respect you for this jokin. In our passion for the Twins, it's easy to become more abrasive than we need to be in order to make our points. But in reality, the worst Twins fan is better than the best White Sox fan. We Twins fans share a common obsession, and while we may disagree, we must remain brothers and sisters lest we start acting like Yankees fans.
  17. I think she might be a guy who is trying to sell discount flooring. But she is definitely confusing.
  18. If they move to Los Angeles, they will play about 10 miles from my house, so it will be difficult not to be a fan.
  19. Great article Mr. Lounge. Before Mauer retires from catching, I would like to see him give payback to Mr. Weeks by clocking him the next time he tries to make contact.
  20. It will be interesting to see how good a prospect the Red Sox can buy.
  21. Doumit currently has the fifth highest OPS on the team, and can play first base and outfield if the need arises. He has made some clutch hits and is on track for 20+ home runs. At 31 years old, he likely has some prime years left. If he could be extended for 2 more years on reasonable terms, I would think that would be a good idea for him and for the team.
  22. This is an excellent report, and the links to the box scores are like cherries on top. Thanks for your hard work in putting this together.
  23. Here is a link to an article by Aaron Gleeman about Trevor Plouffe that includes some interesting comparisons to other players: http://aarongleeman.com/2012/06/19/bust-to-building-block-trevor-plouffe-slugs-his-way-into-twins-plans/
