  1. I am having physical therapy to deal with pericapsulitis in my shoulder. But if the choice comes down to me or Correia, then I am willing to go out there for the good of the team.
  2. Good point, but I am not substituting in this instance. I genuinely like it.
  3. Very nice avatar, my brother.
  4. Sorry, my sister. Please note that I did mention sisters in my original post.
  5. I am grateful for the (mostly) positive responses to this thread, my brothers.
  6. It's working. I do not feel insulted.
  7. My brothers, I just started a poll to see how many of would be willing to commit to laying off the personal attacks for a while. I love all of you. We are fellow Twins fans for God's sake. Please at least consider that we might all have more fun if we could argue passionately, but as brothers not feuders.
  8. We all passionately care about the Twins. If we did not care, we would not be here and we would not bother to debate about almost every aspect of the Twins universe. Lately, there have been a lot of threads where people took diametrically opposing views. I like the debate, but I keep getting turned off by the personal attacks. I urge people to keep their passion but cut back on the personal attacks. Often, I think that both sides are making worthwhile points that would be more persuasive if not for the personal attacks. And I come to this website for baseball talk, not drama. I think of all of you as brothers (with the occasional sister). Please keep your passion. But please also at least consider that there may be many of us who want to hear everyone's views, but are turned off when there is name calling, regardless of who started it. I have a proposal -- whenever you want to disagree with someone, begin with the words "my brother." Then be as passionate as you want and point out every flaw in their thinking, but substitute the words "my brother" for "retard", idiot" and whatever else you may really be thinking, We will all know what you mean but the drama will be less unpleasant and maybe we can even focus more on baseball. If you are willing to commit to this, please vote in the poll.
  9. Interesting article. If Diamond does not regress very much and Worley is healthy, that gives the Twins two solid starters. Then we can hope for two or three of the eight other candidates to step up -- Correia, Gibson, Hendriks, Blackburn, De Vries, Walters, Deduno, and Pelfrey. I like the fact that the Twins have 10 guys who might be solid starters this year. If only 40% of them are solid, then we could move up relative to other teams. Yes, it is very unlikely that the Twins starters will be near the top of the AL, but I feel that there is reason to hope that they can move up to the middle of the pack.
  10. I was out looking at real estate today -- all over Los Angeles. Normally I would see at least a few police cars per hour. Today I saw none. If Charlie can get this guy to surrender peacefully, then that will be a good thing.
  11. Zoilo was an enigma, but in 1965 he was the man.
  12. There is some interesting baseball discussion in this thread. I just wish that we could start it over with a different title, more mutual respect and no personal attacks.
  13. I am glad that spring training will start soon, and we can hopefully change both the topics and tone around here.
  14. Looks like fun.
  15. Killebrew is my favorite player of all time. I became a fan during the 1965 World Series.
  16. Amen.
  17. This is from Twincities.com: "Right-handed reliever Anthony Swarzak will be sidelined about a month after fracturing two ribs on his left side horsing around with friends during TwinsFest, according to general manager Terry Ryan." Here is the full story. Geez.
  18. This article makes me wonder whether the minor league coaches are ruining some of the young hitters.
  19. I am willing to group with anyone who is a fellow Twins fan, but I wish that there was more baseball talk and less bickering. I was hoping for Saunders, but life goes on and it may turn out that we are better off without him.
  20. I plan to post another poll after ST so we can all guess again.
  21. Please put me down for 69. And I feel that is somewhat optimistic considering the available starters. On the other hand, if everything comes together perfectly, I would love to see 85+ wins.
  22. I agree. And there seems to be an endless supply of people who are willing to die to make their points.
  23. I set this up so that people's votes would be displayed, but somehow that feature does not seem to be working. Thanks to all who voted and posted, and I hope that the high numbers are rewarded.
  24. Assuming no major acquisitions, how many wins do you think that the Twins will have this season? Note that all votes will be public, so we can see in October who was correct.
