    It seems like this offseason lasted forever and I am glad that we are now getting back to actual baseball. Go Twins!

    This article suggests that his defense is not great and that he has been struggling to hit for more power. This article suggests that he suffered from "poor plate discipline and an alarming number of strikeouts in 2012." Even so, I hope that Twins give him a close look. He was a highly touted prospect. With a change of scene, maybe he could turn out to be a solid third baseman, and Plouffe has been somewhat injury prone.

    I spent a lot of time deleting posts from this thread this morning. I realize that it is tempting for users to try to police a thread when it is going in a bad direction. Unfortunately this often leads to feuding that clogs the thread with additional non-baseball drama. Please report problem posts and refrain from trying to educate the poster, unless you are willing to be VERY respectful in your comments.

    I never have the time/energy to read novels, but I have been loving the HBO series. I especially like the blonde with the dragons.

    I was there for game 5 of the ALCS. This Twins were winning 5 to 3 until the bottom of the 7th inning. Then that monkey came out and the Angels scored 10 runs. It seemed like the bottom of the 7th inning lasted for an hour, and they just kept piling on the monkey videos. I despise that damn monkey. I oppose animal cruelty, but if a research monkey is absolutely necessary, I would like it to be him.
