    On the one hand, it’s tough to be upset about the Wolves keeping Houston in check for one of the closest games in the opening weekend of action. On the other hand, Houston’s 3-point troubles should have gifted the wolves their best chance at an upset in this series. They will not keep throwing up bricks from downtown. I smell a blow out in game 2.

    The Minnesota Timberwolves are going to the NBA playoffs. The last time that was true, I was in tenth grade.

    Holy moly. My cats were so frightened by my emotional signals. That game was insane in the membrane. And of course it was.

    Jimmy Butler is a top-5 player in this league. There, I said it. We’ve seen a plethora of top tier players go down this season (Steph, Kawhi, Porzingis, Paul, and the list goes on...). But I don’t think anyone has proven quite the same night and day difference when they are on the court as Mr. Buckets. At the half, I really believe the Wolves are going to take this one.

    The ‘experts’ at ESPN (note: i thought all the experts had been purged from ESPN in the past 12 months, despite the inexplicable onboarding of Wysh who’s working there for god knows why) have unanimously picked the Jets in the first round. Gotta say, that seems a little strong.

    One would think the agony of defeat would be a motivator for the more veteran team. The Wild have boatloads of that.

    Yeah, that was a decent at bat, though. Wouldn’t have minded an ironic bunt down the open third base line, however. Dozier was, after all, like three steps from home plate.

    Shohei Ohtani appears to be the real deal, folks. Three home runs this week, gets his second start on Sunday. Haven’t watched him pitch yet, but that swing is glorious. All big flies have been 400 footers past the center field fence. Hotchie motchie!

    I’ll add this: excluding Jimmy from the running, I think the case could be made that Taj has been the MVP of this team this season. That guy is consistent and fundamentally sound.

    Thank the good lord they came to play in the second half. I was about to lose it. Jimmy had 18 points in 20 minutes and a virtual plethora of steals. Thank god Mr. buckets is back. Looking good.

    I feel like the Eddie bashing is coming along a bit strong despite his performance tonight. After all, he did pretty much turn this game around with an outfield assist. Just seems harsh.
