  1. Start rebuilding now. Cut sano, eat the money. Hope someone overpays for berrios. Trade Donaldson and Cruz before the deadline. Probably stuck with buxton and his myriad injury issues. Get a new manager for next year. Suffer through these last 3 months and try not to lose 100 games. That’s all that’s left. It will be years before we are serious contenders. Sucks but true.
  2. he confronted Giolito in the parking lot after the game? what a tool. not a single player in this disaster of a season has any room to mouth off or taunt anyone. 12 games under and have been totally embarrassed in just about every game played against the team we all expected to battle for the division. they should all be like church mice until the on-field results improve. whenever that is.
  3. at this point, what could you honestly point to that supports the idea that our manager is the right guy for the team? losing games happens to everyone, but the severe lack of fundamentals is appalling. his laissez faire approach to practicing and pushing players is only acceptable when you're winning.
  4. The twins love shopping the Great Value brand products
  5. thank god we stink so I don't have to stay up and watch west coast games. a few of the younger guys are the only reason to bother tuning in. the rest just make me angry. 15 comments on a post game thread says my feelings are not unique
  6. Said this in the GDT, but this was a CLASSIC “bad team” loss. Couldn’t build off the improbable win last night. But a couple leads, then flop and fumble around the field, giving away runs like candy. And the incomprehensible bullpen management. It will be interesting to see what the biggest win streak will be for the rest of the year. I can’t imagine being able to put it all together for more than 3-4 games.
  7. I...I...don’t know what to say? What did I just witness?
  8. I’ve never hated a twins team before. Many have made me angry, upset, disappointed...but I’ve never actually hated a twins team. But I hate this one. How embarrassing of a night for the “bringer of rain”. Call a guy out for cheating then be shut down all night with a few k’s. He does more yapping than producing. dobnak, sorry. Feel bad for the guy but wow, he got an extension based on what, exactly? His demeanor on the mound is almost as irritating as his performance. Three home runs allowed on 0-2 pitches. What’s the fine for that in player kangaroo court? The last three innings of tonight’s game had the feel of a blowout high school game where the coach gets his scorekeeper and equipment manager an AB. They might have scored 20 if they actually tried.
  9. Twins are now 39-104 (.272) against the Yankees since 2002. I can’t put into words how horrendous that it. Will it ever change?
  10. How many reasons are there to continue watching this team? Kiriloff, larnach? And even that’s a stretch. Only 4 months left to go.
  11. Man, that one week of good baseball had some people believing. This series was a whisker away from being a sweep for the orioles. Let that sink in.
  12. Mentioned in the GDT, but the white Sox brought 3 reliever into the game in succession, and all 3 are better than pretty much anyone the twins have in the bullpen.
  13. The twins lose even when they don’t play. Huascar Ynoa went 6 innings and gave up 4 hits and a run for the braves tonight on Sunday night baseball. You might remember Ynoa as the guy the twins traded to Atlanta for one week of Jamie garcia. He’s about to be 4-1 with a 2.23 ERA and a WHIP of 0.89
  14. Blow it up and start over. This aggregation of players, as is, will never win a championship.
  15. hey, at least we won't extend the consecutive playoff losses record! this year anyway...#silverlinings
  16. it's safe to say my attitude of "it's just nice to have baseball back in the spring" has long since passed
  17. I for one cannot believe I saw a fire the manager sign in early May in minnesota
  18. If the starters keep going 5, 51/3....the team will lose 90 games. Can’t throw Rodgers and duffey every night. There’s just not enough even mediocre pitchers in the pen
  19. Few posters have been more negative than me during the early going, but I never got the “miss rosario yet?” stuff. It was way beyond time to move on from him, regardless of how poorly some of his replacements have been doing. The errant swings, the unpredictable and very sloppy defense, the lollygagging...Seemed like a nice guy but I was over it as some other posters were
  20. The only thing keeping buxton from being a superstar is his health. Stay healthy and he’ll be incredible
  21. Maeda didn’t have a horrible game, but not a great one either. He doesn’t seem to be nearly the same guy he was last season. Location is off leading to an increase in long balls
  22. Shouldn’t be anywhere near a crucial situation. Problem is we already have a couple guys like that. Thank GOD we’re getting at least somewhat competent outings from the starters. But if that falters, look out.
  23. Ask yourself if you’d trust our manager’s decision making in series deciding playoff game. That’s all you need to know.
