  1. First game we end up using 4 pitchers to eek out a win (the first opening day win in awhile). Second game we end up using 7 pitchers to eek out another win. Third game we end up using 8 pitchers to build on the momentum and get our third win in a row. Same for game 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. After a nine game win streak to start the season and averaging 8 pitchers a game, Molitor and the front office look like geniuses for taking 13 pitchers north. We're gonna win Twins, we're gonna score! We're gonna win Twins what's that baseball score?....
  2. This will most likely be another difficult year for the Minnesota Twins pitching staff. The offense however will be another story. Last year we had Dozier hitting 40 HR's that made watching this team somewhat interesting towards the end of the season. This year we will get to see Sano do the same thing: 541 at-bats, .260/.358/.510 31 doubles, 1 triple, 41 HR's 126 RBI's Bonus prediction: Park...When finally called back from Rochester on April 28th he ends up with 455 at-bats: .258/.335/.498 28 doubles, 2 triples, 39 HR's BOOM!
  3. I actually think this kid is great. He's a guy when at the plate can really make things happen. He's only 25 this year and has matured a lot. This will be his big breakout year. Trust me: 525 at-bats: .290/.331/.481 28 doubles/6 triples/22 HR's
  4. This kid is going to be a real All-Star right fielder. His confidence at the plate this year has got to be much higher than it was last year. The pitchers will adjust on him but I think he can compensate. 582 at-bats: .288/.345/.497 30 2B/ 21 HR/4 3B Possible Gold Glove contender as he doesn't have to travel as far to his right with Buxton next to him. He'll be a vacuum in RF. A great arm as well.
  5. I thought the new FO was all about building a better culture in the organization and creating a good chemistry in the club house. Going north with a roster like this doesn't seem to do either of those things. Molitor says this is "short term"...great. Does that mean you're telling the fans and the guys on the team you know this isn't the best team you could field right now? Statements like that really motivate me to run right out there and buy a 20 game ticket package! What do the players think about that? Taking 13 pitchers..great. What does that tell your starters/relievers? All of these players with the exception of a few know they need to produce or get sent down or released. Why add the extra drama? Doesn't sound like its gonna be very fun in the club house the next month or so. Sending Park down boggles my mind. Oh well, I guess I'll just wait awhile longer to buy tickets to see this team play. It looks to me like they aren't ready to put the best product on the field yet.
  6. The FO should have brought the best relievers they have in AA/AAA north and dumped everyone else in the bullpen. The one's that perform you keep, the others that don't send them down. I've never understood the whole bullpen mess the Twins find themselves in. With some of the talent we have in AA/AAA why we don't promote more of them is insane. These are relief pitchers! All we ask is to throw 1 inning well! Out of 15 relievers in the minor league system you would think 3 (20%) of them could pitch well or at least better than the crew they are bringing north right now. It could also build some great chemistry within that group of players. So much of this game is mental and if you have a bunch of fearless 20 somethings throwing everyday it could really build into something special. I guess I'll just ask my doctor to up my prescription of high blood pressure pills to get me through the end of these games.
  7. No one ever became great by playing it safe. Keep running and diving Buxton! So fun to watch those amazing athletic feats.
  8. The key word there is leadership. The veteran part confuses people. Joe Mauer is a veteran. I don't think anyone would argue that point...Is he a leader in the club house? Doesn't look like it to me. Obviously that is just my opinion but Joe has never struck me as a rallying type of guy. Not sure of Santana, Hughes, Castro. Dozier may be the closest to that "leadership" person out of the group you mentioned.
  9. Some of these new coaches sound like good additions. It will be fun to watch their potential impact on the team in 2017. On a more serious coaching/managing matter, I'm concerned about who is helping Molitor construct the daily lineup. Hopefully the coaches that assisted Molitor with that task last year have moved on...
  10. Good article. Thanks for the information...based on what was written I hope we go with the the youth movement. I would prefer to see Murphy or Garver get the nod.
  11. Great work Thrylos! Appreciate the information.
  12. I just read this article and all the comments...Looks like I chose the wrong week to quit drinking.
  13. The mark of a great shop teacher or "older" Mod... http://www.popsci.com/sites/popsci.com/files/styles/large_1x_/public/import/2013/images/2008/05/iStock_000005523851Small.jpg?itok=zn2k5Ca3
  14. Hey! I just heard the Dozier/Twins trade with Dodgers was just announced on KFAN. WOW!!
  15. WAY TO JINX IT SAMPLE SIZE! May as well turn it off now. Some people...
  16. Thank God someone started a game thread! I was going into hypothermic shock and having some minor DT's. Chief should start some early season recruiting for game thread volunteers now while there is still hope in the season ahead. Brian thanks for taking the initiative with the game thread. Next time please remember to post the winter lineups with start time, etc.
  17. No! No! No!...This is baseball at it's finest. Work the edges of the game. Frame that pitch up! Cheating is shooting up a full load of anibiolic steroids before trotting out onto the diamond. 40-60 HR's a year...
  18. This is a decent signing. The added defensive help and framing qualities Castro possesses is all positive. The bat could turn around too...After all, we will have a new hitting coach soon. Maybe he can work a miracle with Castro's bat.
  19. Remember the sign that is plastered on the conference room wall in Chicago? "Find pitching". If the Twins focus on that one thing it should come together well. "Find pitching" doesn't mean FA market only. It means good drafting, trading and coaching. Here are some current positives: 1. The Twins have a good core of young talent now. 2. There are some strong minor league players in the system. 3. We have had some decent draft positions and get the #1 pick this year. Just focus on the pitching. Oh, and maybe a catcher too...
  20. I need to go hit the Excelsior Ryder Cup Block Party. Can't participate tonight but here it goes: Game Threads...Awesome and so are each of you! My pic did't go through...Horrible. Will try again. http://www.glocktalk.com/proxy.php?image=http%3A%2F%2Fsuptg.thisisnotatrueending.com%2Farchive%2F11829901%2Fimages%2F1282974542456.png&hash=9e9e4caca8bfe7f3bd47552d8c2986aa
  21. UNBELIEVBLE! Molitor was asked why he pulled Berrios. No answer given. He just said I thought he was losing it...WOW! TSF!
  22. Not serious. I was just guessing why he wasn't on tonight. He might have checked into a 30 day rehab program though...I wouldn't blame him.
  23. Anthony LaPlanta is doing post game tonight. Tom Hannemann walked off the set three days ago due to frustration. Gave up trying to be positive.
