    Cliff was my hero and role model. He was a letter carrier and a know-it-all. I have been both things and still am one.

    The kids pointed out that the Twins are wearing Red and the Red Sox are wearing blue. That's the truth but that doesn't make it right.

    The Red Sox were the only team who showed interest when he was released. If he's still bitter about the Twins after 13 1/2 years shouldn't he feel the same way about the other 28 teams who declined to offer him a chance?

    Because service time is a very legitimate consideration. Is it really going to make a difference this year if we wait until a service time milestone is passed? If Chargois is the real deal I'd rather have him under team control for a longer time during a time when the Twins are contending.

    Mr and Mrs Chief wanted to join a church but it required them to abstain from marital relations for a month. At the end of the month they met with the pastor who asked them if they had fulfilled the requirements. Chief said that, sadly, Mrs Chief had bent over to pick up a bag of potatoes, and one thing led to another. The pastor said that they would have to leave and never come back. And Chief said, "That's OK, they told us the same thing at Lunds."
