  1. I think this probably applies to most teams and their bullpens. It seems like relievers move from team to team and up and down within organizations more than starters and position players. I'm not going to take the time to analyze statistics, but I have the impression that the Twins have done better than most teams in cobbling a bullpen together from year to year.
  2. OK, Ervin, get 'em tomorrow.
  3. The home team provides the bat boys.
  4. Dick said just what I was thinking. Not clean but good enough.
  5. I suppose it doesn't hurt to challenge but he's safe.
  6. Al was a top-notch closer before they were called closers.
  7. Guess wrong and you've got TD nation camping outside your house with torches and pitchforks.
  8. OK, Mollie, it's up to you to guess right about which relievers to bring in.
  9. Wheels get us another run!
  10. 7th inning too early to PH for Zukes?
  11. Yeah, it's one of those quirky little things about baseball. The dimensions are defined to the inch but there's no good reason that second base should be different. It would be interesting to go back in time and be a fly on the wall during the committee meeting that standardized those dimensions to see why they decided to set it up that way .
  12. I say run Duffey out again in 5 days. He's almost 25 years old. I don't think we have to worry as much about him handling the work load as we do with, say, Berreios at age 21.
  13. Ya, for him to score the bunt would have to get to the outfield
  14. Regarding the math problem, you can find all the information you need from the internets.
  15. Incorrect. I recommend looking up the dimensions of a base, the dimensions of home plate and the position of home plate and first base within an infield.
  16. So here's something for your brains to do while watching the game: To the nearest inch, what is the distance between home plate and first base? Hint: it's not 90 feet, 0 inches.
  17. Maybe there's some quirky way you can tie together the third out of the top of an inning and the first out of the bottom of the inning.
  18. Do I trust Glen Perkins? No doubt in my mind. I trust that he'll do his best. However, I'd also trust myself in that way, although I don't think I could throw a baseball faster than about 35 mph. I think what Nick probably meant when he wrote the title of this thread is "Do you think Glen Perkins has the ability to perform at a high enough level during the rest of the regular season to provide meaningful help to the Twins in achieving their goal of qualifying for the postseason?" Of course, that's a bit wordy. But to answer that question, I'm afraid I have to say I doubt it.
