  1. OH! First reply! Haw haw haw! Sale got lit! Haw haw haw! And the Red Sox got greased in game 1! Haw haw haw haw haw.....!
  2. Hi gang! Had a whale of a busy August-September, so couldn't spend much time on the threads. But things now leveling off a bit, just in time for playoff ball with no Home Team involved. *sniff* So, just wondering--- who do you really, really, not want to see go another round, and especially would hate to see stinkin' up the Series? There are polls around and stuff, but how about reasons behind the hate? Did an Astro once run over your dog? Do you suffer from arkoudaphobia? Do you still hate John Denver and all things Colorado because your girlfriend made you get that haircut like his back then? I'm going to open with the low-hanging fruit. Da Yanks, and Da Red Sawks-- Because they're who they are, for starters, with all the $$$ in the world to cherry-pick free agents. But mostly, and most infuriatingly, because of their obnoxious, imperious, entitled fans. Nothing better than to stick it to 'em, especially in their own yard, and watch those ninnies whine and cry. (Sidebar-- the famous recording of Bobby Thompson's "shot heard round the world" was recorded by a Dodger fan, who started taping because he wanted to hear Giants announcer Russ Hodges cry.... Well, he cried, alright, in a slightly different way.) So there you go- In the heirarchy of my hate, also go the Astros, cuz they're from Texas, land of gerry-mandered nut job politicos. And the Dodgers, cuz my ex-who-done-me-wrong and I used to live near the Stadium and go to lots of games together. And the Snakes, because Joe Arpaio and Jan Brewer. Full disclosure: I lived about 4 blocks from Wrigley for all of the 1990s- so I favour the Cubbies. Or theTribe, cuz they're our division pals. Whaddya got?
  3. Dang it, he cost plenty of games this year, (and last year, and the year before), with awful lineups and mind-numbing in-game management. Gee, maybe the Twinks would have had home field in that playoff if not for games given away during the season. I have not the time nor the wherewithal to go through all the game threads, but I do remember countless times, after a loss, when the "this one's on Molly" quotes were abundant. This sucks right now. And it'll suck next year, too.
  4. Oh, please, God, no.... To quote a well-known Twin, "this sucks right now."
  5. Hi gang! Just a quick check-in while at "work" today... I think we'll battle back from the early deficit. But, also noticed the Cleveland score- wow, 10-0 in the 3rd inning... I wonder who the Sox are throwing today? Wait for it.... wait for it..... Big Pelf. 10 runs in 2.2. Ahhhh, just like the old days....! *granted, he was hard done by from his defense, but... whew.
  6. Heh... wasn't able to check in to the game today, but saw the aftermath. Ahhh, nostalgia--- Pressly and Tonk, the usual suspects, giving it up for the team!
  7. Are you sure that wasn't a CHICKEN sandwich? Hmmmm.....?

  9. OMG Delicious Chicken! Nom nom nom nom.....
  10. Who's this LOOGY the Tribe are throwing right now? Can we eat this guy up and tack on, just for old time's sake?
  11. If you look that much like Chris Walken, you're scaring me, too....!
  12. Is Niko going to catch the next inning? Is there anything he can't do? Yee-haw!!
  13. Zoinks! Might Casey comes through!
  14. Maybe not Turley. I gotta baaaad feeling about that.....
  15. Ugh. I had a feeling this BullPen Game TM would have to include Pressly.... *(makes futile fart sound)* Pffft.
  16. Agree. I find it incomprehensible why Hague or Park or both are not on that pine right now.
  17. I am convinced that this season and the pennant race are in spite of the mgr, not because of him. How many dang games has he already cost with bone-headed lineups and in-game decisions?
  18. So this is a major difference between a Cleveland team and the present Twinkie team. They get their guys over, and get 'em on in when they have the chance. A few less K's that don't advance the runner, and a few less Mighty Casey swings when a short poke to the grass would do just fine....
  19. Whoa--- I just checked in to the game on a break from work-- this is one of those proverbial bullpen games, eh? Class AA style.... Go, Lookouts!
  20. And it's one game, Baby.... anything can happen. But Gawd, wouldn't it be wonderful to stick a fork in the Yanks in a one-game playoff? In their yard? Heh......
  21. True dat. He was pulled after 4.2 his last start, and he made a bit of a stink when Joe G came to get him.
  22. Heh.... sez the guy with Kevin's voice as his avatar!
  23. The new Cesar Tovar ( my fave Twin from the 60s/70s!)
