  1. Do you know how to swim? If so, don't worry about it! You're going to be fine...
  2. I think I saw a Twilight Zone episode about this.... Every where you look there's a Chief joke, Chi saying ish, and a Joe M ongoing conversation.
  3. This is rational and I agree 100%. But we've been here long enough to know there will be threads created over the winter raising pitchforks for losing (insert player name here) to the Rule 5 draft.
  4. Even if you're a terrible team, you'd still want your Rule 5 pick to have some sort of positional flexibility or play a premium position like SS, CF, or C. I don't know if you would want an over his head 1B only on roster all season long. That's a tough pill to swallow even for a 90+ loss team.
  5. Thanks for putting this together spy! Based off your list, I would let all 5 pending FA's walk. On the arbitration list, I would give Pressly one more chance (on a very short leash) and tender Grossman. There's still a need for a high on-base guy in the lineup and he fills that need at a fairly cheap rate. On the potential cuts list, I would bring up Turley for the bullpen right now so they can decide between him and Boshers for next season. Chargois is my dark horse DFA... 3 seasons lost to arm injuries. Enough is enough. I wouldn't have any issue letting O'Rourke, Palka, and Vargas go either.
  6. San Diego is a dream city to live in for me... But I know if I would ever live there, I would be broke within a year. Why do you have to be so expensive San Diego?!
  7. It would be extremely unlikely, but crazier things have happened in baseball. I'll still watch some games the rest of the way. Today just feels like a step back for watching competitive baseball.
  8. We'll disagree they now have 5 starters... There's still work to do in the off-season to hit that number. I know you posted the 2018 Rochester projected rotation which looks nice. Still not sure if they can help out in Minnesota next year or not.
  9. The question is will this improved depth ever help out the MLB team? Or will it only help out the Chattanooga Lookouts and Rochester Red Wings? We knew that Kintzler could help out the big league club.... JRM was fine to get rid of. There wasn't a future for him here.
  10. I was thinking since there's now flexibility on the 40 man, give one or two of the 16 players requiring protection this off-season an early audition.
  11. Yep. It hasn't been a fun 10 days for those of us who wanted to be buyers and see this team try to contend this season. Let's hope it's an aggressive off-season....
  12. Couldn't agree more with your last sentence. Now that it's decided that the season is over for contending, I would hope they call up an assortment of different players to find out what they have. Especially from the list of 10+ relievers in the minors.
  13. Apparently this was not a good year to sell SP. Last year teams were offering a king's ransom for good SP.
  14. Hasn't been announced yet. But given they made 3 trades for proven pitchers, their farm has to be somewhat depleted after today.
  15. So Dodgers acquire Darvish, Tony Watson from Pittsburgh, and Tony Cingrani from Cincinnati. What a day to be a Dodgers fan.
  16. Pictured: Typical TD members waiting around on this thread. Yes, most of us are dressed this way too.
  17. No worries. I did a double take myself linking his B-Ref page to my post.
