  1. I’m rooting for the 49ers tonight. The Rams could be a scary team to face in the playoffs. I’d much rather have the 49ers limp in to eliminate at least one NFC potential on our way to a Super Bowl title
  2. 14 years ago today, the Metrodome roof collapsed. A few weeks later, Brett Favre was pile drived on a frozen TCF Bank Stadium turf that was not built to host winter football.
  3. Under if I were to guess unless they offer a few promotions for tickets closer to opening day. That’s paid attendance too… the real attendance is worse than that. In the 5-6 games I went to last summer the stadium was ~50% full. The mid September Tuesday night game against the Angels had maybe 10,000 people in the stands.
  4. Put that question in 1,000 point bold font. It’s the only question that matters. And so far? Doesn’t feel like anything has changed. Will they get creative and aggressive winning back fans? Time for Falvey to get to work trying to put more butts in seats at Target Field.
  5. 4th, 5th, 11th and 14th ranked org prospects from Boston according to MLB Pipeline
  6. Boston just traded 4 prospects, including Teel, for Garrett Crochet. It’s Baltimore’s time to act before their championship window slams shut.
  7. Since it is mandated by ownership that payroll needs to be cut, I will continue to pound the drum that Lopez is the most logical trade candidate. It sheds the most payroll off 2025, and he will receive the highest trade return out of anyone else (Correa, Buxton, Paddack, Vazquez) Keep close tabs on Baltimore. It’s a crucial offseason for them and they’re potentially losing both Corbin Burnes and 40 HR hitter Santander. They’re a pretty good match for a trade partner this winter.
  8. And that’s going to happen in any sports league. You’re going to have poorly run organizations, and star players can still choose desirable locations like NY, Los Angeles, or Miami. At least in the NFL and NBA, small markets can afford the star players just like the big markets.
  9. Then Cleveland immediately flips Spencer Horowitz to the Pirates End result is 4 players acquired by Cleveland for Andres Gimenez.
  10. Of course. There’s always a risk signing a player off a career year. Between now and March I’ll flip back and forth on it 100 more times. If I had to decide today I’d give him a 3 year deal with $100 mill guaranteed. But that’s with him playing the best football of his life over the last month. Hopefully he keeps it up the next 3 weeks against our division opponents and the playoffs.
  11. The Darnold decision may come down to this. Darnold is a boat. McCarthy could be anything, even a boat!
  12. Already ahead of you. I’m not going to put a second of thought into trade proposals this winter because why would I know how other teams view our players? Fruitless exercise if you ask me. The last 2 offseasons the FO has told us nothings going to happen. Not what Twins Daily wants to hear and report, but it’s true.
  13. Guardians making a move.
  14. Another player that only 5-7 teams can realistically afford to pay. How fun.
  15. That would be a dream offseason for the Pohlads. Cleaning up the books so they can pocket MLB cash one more time before the sale. I’m operating under the assumption that any major trade this winter won’t benefit the 2025 Twins. Trades will only benefit the balance sheet.
  16. This MNF game wasn’t for me. Didn’t watch a second of it
  17. I just looked it up out of curiosity… since 2000 there have been 16 teams that won a World Series, and 11 teams that won an NBA title. So they are getting closer to parity. The salary cap/floor/revenue sharing baseball needs to adapt is far beyond my comprehension. It won’t be perfect at first, but something needs to happen otherwise growth will grind to a halt. It’s becoming increasingly difficult to be a fan of a team in central USA when we can’t afford star FAs or retaining home grown stars. Kansas City has next to 0 chance affording a 15/$800+ million contract to Bobby Witt Jr. when he’s eligible for FA.
  18. Every bar/restaurant in the neighborhood should have some sort of partnership with the Twins and Timberwolves for sure. Maybe not the high end places like Bar La Grassa, but a wing place like Runyons should absolutely have some Twins related specials.
  19. This plus full, equal revenue sharing. NFL and NBA are running laps around MLB because they learned long ago that competitive balance is the key to growth. If this divide between the haves and have nots continues to grow in MLB it will be a niche sport before we know it.
  20. You are correct. I eat before I head to the stadium either at my house or a restaurant in North Loop. I will push back on the $1 hot dogs being good. They are not. Small and on a bun that’s a day away from being stale.
  21. What? I went to a couple of dollar dog nights last summer and that was not the case at all. Hard to sell out when the stadium is half full. The food at the state fair is actually good. Not good for you, but much better quality than gas station quality hot dogs at Target Field. And a slice of Red Baron frozen pizza for $12 or whatever they’re charging.
  22. That contract is going to age so, so poorly for the Mets.
  23. At a minimum tag him. If Kwesi is a true analytics guy he’s not going to let Darnold walk without getting market value out of him. He’s worth at least a 1st round pick in a trade at this point.
  24. Honestly don’t care who makes it out of the NFC South they’re gonna get crushed by whoever plays them.
