  1. Heard game on radio. Both Peterson and Walker battled at the plate before striking out. That was at least encouraging. Looking for good at bats in camp. Read thread on Walker earlier. [6 HRs this week in minor league games with 4 off the batters eye] - Again encouraging. Love seeing young guys get a chance in ST.
  2. I heard AA lost for the first time this year in camp. I also heard AA roster is changed from what we read the other day due to MLB cuts.
  3. But the Lookouts are the only team in Southern League not to televise home games? Best team on paper and no televised games. Sucks
  4. Is Chattanooga a hitters park or pitchers park? Because that batting order could be deadly. Five home runs today and none from the biggest home run threat on the team (Sano). Good to see Walker hit one to RF. Hicks has damn near 200 rbi over the last two years (Sleeper).
  5. With the Lookouts having some of the best talent in all of minor league baseball, why will I not be able to see them on MiLBTV this season? I read somewhere on Twins Daily that they are the only team in Southern League to not have a TV deal. I looked it up and it is true. Is that the Twins or Chattanooga? And regardless - Why?
  6. It's a shame that strikeouts is the tell all when it comes to prospect rankings. He could have a 1.90 ERA for 6 years in the minors and never get any love because he doesn't strike out batters. Are there not any MLB All Stars who are not great at getting strikeouts but just win?
  7. Tim Shybuya and Brett Lee don't get enough K's so they are considered non factors despite dominating at every level. All pitch to contact pitchers are not failures at the MLB level.
  8. There are 12 position players of the Top 30. 18 Pitchers makes for an awesome outlook on the future. I was surprised to see Kepler behind Walker, but tend to agree with the listing. Walker has shown much more upside and production at the lower levels IMO. Also glad to see Goodrum on the list. Best infield arm in the system! All Dalton Hicks does is make plays defensively and drive in runs (poor man's Hrbek). How many of our Top 20 would be Top 10's in other systems? Exciting
  9. Great photos and thank you. Were games exciting? I saw Stewart and Gonsalves pitching in photos. Amazing to see how some of these kids age in just a few years. Beards and Muscles. They are getting into their "Man" bodies as I watch these photos. The future is bright.
  10. I heard they had inter squad games (minor leaguer) today. Did any of the guys who were cut play in those minor league games. Did anyone see them play if they did play?
  11. It shows me that despite having a poor BA at AAA, players can make adjustments at the MLB level if they are just afforded Reps/ABs. I would ride some of these young guys this season and let them make that second year (2016) leap as Dozier did in his 2nd year.. 2016 would then be a special year. Especially if they have a special tool (5 tool) that adds to the team.
  12. Was there a link to the minor league 1st practice. I'm enjoying learning about so many lower profile players on the Twins. Makes you become an underdog fan of some of these guys (Hamburger and Graham). Good reading Seth.
  13. If minor leaguers report today, why do they start practice on Thursday? Can you really tell if their is any growth in a players overall game during ST?
  14. I am amazed at how often people get agitated based on assumptions. When we ass u me we ........... I'm sure your comments would be viewed as agitating by everyone in the clubhouse if you conveyed those thoughts based on a "likely insisted" point of view. Michael Jordan had run ins with teammates LaBron James had run ins with teammates Kevin Garnett had run ins with teammates Jadier Molina had run ins with teammates All might be jerks - but all considered great leaders. Does what you do bring WINS? Bottom line. We will see, but he does have a great history of winning. Just saying.......... Some players lead by example (Mauer) and players feed off that comfort. Some players lead by bringing positive energy (Hunter) to the dugout verbally and players also feed off of that. Great teams have both types of leaders and the Twins now have both. IMO
  15. I'd like t know which prospects outside of the top 10 the AA & AAA hitting / pitching coaches are looking forward to working with? With such a loaded system, who do they see as sleepers? Thery have to have more insight than all of us bloggers and scouts.
  16. Did anyone go over to minor league park this week for any period of time? What non invitees are getting early work? Is Harrison still looking good? Did all the minor league coaches leave them to work MLB park? These daily updates are the highlight of my day. So jealous
  17. Hicks T. Jones Buxton Gordon Walker Goodrum 24% of the 25 man roster in the near future. The most African Americans on any team in baseball if that occurred. Only 3 of 6 truly expected to make it though. That is 12%. Still higher than MLB average of 8%.
  18. Most run producers drive in runs regardless to who they play for. They somehow have a knack for it (ground out; fly out; hit;). So yes - I would assume personally. I think most free agents get signed based on past production and an assumption of what they might do for new team. No one knows for certainty what a free agent will do with new team. It's based on history and/or belief. Torii has earned both IMO Back on subject matter - Apologies
  19. is there a need to move Kepler and Polanco quickly since they occupy 40 man roster spots? Next year will call for additional young prospects to be protected. They can't afford to have a 40 man roster filled with potential prospect not yet at AAA or MLB level can they?
  20. Will the Twins be willing to promote young outfielders (Kepler; Walker; Harrison) to AAA if they have great first halves? And if so who gets released at AAA level?
  21. Which skill rankings (tools) do you support the most - MLB.com or Fangraph
  22. What is the 1 area (2 word) of improvement each of the following needs to work on this season? Kepler Harrison Walker Goodrum Polanco Sano Rosario Buxton Turner
  23. Which pitching longshot do you see having breakout season? Tim Shibuya; Brett Lee; or Tyler Jones?
  24. You showed a Chattanooga roster but what batting order would Seth the manager present at home plate?
  25. Which 2014 high A prospect do you see having a Vargas like meteor like improvement in AA this year? Improved BA and everything's?
