Is there any word on how Levi Michael is doing? He was just starting to heat up. He was carted off the field. Appeared to be a knee issue based on announcer last night and above video. Any news?

Who would have thought? ABW II is 5th overall in OBP on Lookout roster behind Hicks - Wickens - Michael & Harrison respectively. And ahead of Buxton - Polanco - Sano - Turner - Gonzalez & Kepler. Even with the slow Lookout start, I wouldn't have thought that. The crazy part is he is doing slightly better batting 7th than he did batting 4th (as he did in previous years). His team is not playing as well however, with him batting 7th. The Lookouts had seemed to be taking a page out of the MLB teams playbook with their RIGHTY / LEFTY / RIGHTY / LEFTY / ETC. lineups through the first 15 games. Now they seem to have changed things up slightly. Thank God for Dalton Hicks and his return to 2013 production level. Another under appreciated prospect.

How it should be. I think all 4 have a MLB future in some capacity (pension worthy futures).

The double H boys are grooving right now. In the last 10 games: Harrison .382 BA with hits in 8 of those games Hicks .371 BA with hits in 7 of those games Walker .297 BA with hits in 8 of those games Polanco .250 BA with hits in 7 of those games Turner .250 BA with hits in 6 of those games Michael .208 BA with hits in 5 of those games Gonzalez .205 BA with hits in 6 of those games Buxton .195 BA with hits in 5 of those games Sano .182 BA with hits in 5 of those games I'm really excited about how the Double H boys are playing thus far. Harrison was always a solid hitter and Hicks has always been underrated. IMO This team is going to take off when everyone finds their groove.

Adam Brett Walker II - 2015
ExpectMorePayLess replied to Shane Wahl's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
Walker bats 7th in the Chattanooga lineup. You know you have a stacked team when that happens. The downfall is that by the end of the season, he will probably have 100+ less ABs than the guys at the top of the order. He actually played in the game Saturday and had 2 ABs in a game. Crazy. If he has a chance to be a player at the next level, I think he needs to move up in the order and get those needed ABs. My personal opinion. -
Just go to the Box Score at the end of each teams summary to get their stats. They already provide the stats at the end of each Minor League report.

Walker hit a monster shot tonight in Chattanooga. The left fielder didn't even move. Harrison looks to be having an excellent year. Timely hitting so far.

2015 Chattanooga Lookouts Roster Preview
ExpectMorePayLess replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
The Lookouts first series against the Montgomery Biscuts (Tampa Rays) will not be an easy series. Tampa has the best defensive Catcher - O'Connor (Top 100) in the minors based on National Rankings and one of the best SS - Robertson (Top 100) in the minors. They also have 2 outfielders who are 1st rounders playing on their team. Their 3rd baseman (Shafer / 1st rounder) won the Cape HR derby in college and hit 19 last year at AA. Their 2B led the FSL last year in hitting (Reginatto). So before we dub them Champions - let's watch how the first series unfolds. That's why they play the game . Not sure how good their pitching is however. Tune in to some serious MiLB TV Thursday.- 54 replies

Read this in today's MLB Blog: http://redwingsbaseball.mlblogs.com/2015/03/27/fort-myers-report-day-two/ He's doing this against AA competition too. He seems to continue to do the same thing at every level and we keep waiting for him to fail. The question becomes (yes or no) would you want him on your team (Twins) if he continued to lead the league in home runs - rbi - total bases & strikeouts, yet also continued his poor contact rate & career .312 OBP? That's the yes or no question we all need to answer to end this debate regarding his worth! Period! No yeah buts or ifs.................

Berrios, Buxton Among First Round of Cuts
ExpectMorePayLess replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Does anyone know which groups "Each" will be working with in minor league camp? Eample: (1) Now that Buxton and Kepler are sent down to minor league camp, does that affect who bumps down from group 1 to group 2 (as Seth outlined in article) ?- 43 replies

VIDEO: Torii Hunter in VETERAN LEADERSHIP
ExpectMorePayLess replied to Parker Hageman's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
I have no problem with anyone expressing their thoughts. I don't have to believe in them just because you state something intelligent or ignorant. We don't give each other enough credit for ignoring thoughts that aren't yours. In terms of Hunters leadership - There are just too many coaches, players, and front office people who rave about his leadership. I'm going to tend to believe that "picture" of what he brings to my club in terms of leadership. As far as Hunter's influence is concerned in working with Hicks and Buxton, I think it very narrow minded to not see the overall big picture. Torri brings a wealth of baseball knowledge that any outfielder would relish. Being Black on any major league team isn't an easy task when you look at the number of people who look like you and probably / possibly share your cultural upbringing. Understanding how to exist in the business that is major league baseball as a minority is a learned experience by itself. There are the do's and don'ts that every parent tells their child and there are the extra do's and don'ts that every minority parent tells their child. How to survive in a world where it sometimes feels like you are not particularly wanted as an ethnic group is rougher than most imagine. Ex: Torri Hunter will probably be the ONLY African American on the team if Hicks is sent down to AAA. Visualize yourself as the only individual who looks like yourself and question if you would want the leadership of someone else who looks like you and had lived your dream for 17+ years. Think of the questions you would want to ask that person? Think of the questions Torri had for Carew and Oliva and Pucket that were not baseball (on the field) related? If you think being a minority is easy in the MLB today - Just ask Rod Carew or Tony Oliva if they believe it's an easy task. Easier yes - Easy no way. Regardless to my feelings about Hunter off the field - I think his influence is without measure for all the young players, but especially the Hicks and Buxton of the organization. I wish he was able to share more with the handful of other African Americans in the organization. See who players gravitate to outside of baseball. That often tells you a lot about comfort levels and how an organization should address these comfort levels. In bringing back Torri, the Twins made an excellent first move.- 12 replies

I don't think the Twins have any African American pitchers in the system other than Tyler Jones, but they do have several potential position players who are African Americans and on the way up with Aaron Hicks, Byron Buxton, Nick Gordon, Niko Goodrum, Adam Brett Walker, and possibly JD Williams. If not for Hicks 2 month cup of coffee, the Twins would have looked like Arizona, San Francisco, and St. Louis last year and the year before. Dozier and Mauer may be the only causation starters in 2016 other than 90% of the pitching staff. I guess times are changing in MN. People will probably get upset when the question is asked: Is MN ready for a minority dominated team? I only ask because people don't always like change. It shouldn't matter, but if it were that simple, we wouldn't be talking about Seattle's Manager "Carrying the Torch".

Push Candidate: Adam Brett Walker III
ExpectMorePayLess replied to Shane Wahl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Who was the last (position player) prospect to benefit from a repeat stay in high A? [I'm talking after a full season in high A and start of next season] I'm talking about prospects who became MLB Twins regulars? I hear those who say let him repeat A+, but where in Twins history has this been beneficial to the point of "This is what should be done"? If no one is blocking a player, let them move up and repeat at the higher levels. Besides, it is not like he had a horrible season. These are not terrible numbers for FSL [ .250 BA / 25 homers / 95 rbi / 750+ OPS]. The new "Twins Way" = Push Push Push
