  1. Read in different thread. Interesting outlook on new approach for Walker Thoughts? Would it help significantly enough?
  2. Santana will be the SS of the future. As fast as Gordon and just as good defensively. Gordon will be traded for some other strong prospect pieces to keep farm system plentiful.
  3. I just went with the assumption that the top 15 to 20 prospects had a chance to help us down the road. Some quality pitchers on that list. Mauer probably should be higher. I just tried to scatter the few contact guys and put the speed at the top. I really don't care about who bats where that much on [ B ]. If done right, we should be like the Rays when they produced prospect after prospect for years. It's in the works.
  4. With the pitching getting better and providing many more close contest, which scenario would bring more runs and wins? OPTION A or B Fantasy long term (2016 thru 2023) line ups [A.] 3 Basher Lineup - Small ball / Contact Lineup 1) Buxton CF 2) Rosario LF or Hicks LF 3) Santana SS 4) Sano 3B - (25 - 30 HR) 5) Vargas DH - (25 - 30 HR) 6) Arcia RF - (25 - 30 HR) 7) Mauer 1B 8) Suzuki C 9) Polanco 2B or [b.] 6 to 7 Basher Lineup - More strikeouts / Game Changer Lineup 1) Buxton CF 2) Dozier 2B (20 - 25 HR) 3) Sano 3B (25 - 30 HR) 4) Arcia LF (25 - 30 HR) 5) Vargas DH (25 - 30 HR) 6) Pinto C (20 - 25 HR) 7) Mauer 1B or Kepler (20 - 25 HR) 8) Walker RF (25 - 30 HR) or Kepler (20 - 25 HR) 9) Santana SS
  5. Kepler at 1st and rotates as 4th outfielder Hicks at DH and rotates at 1B Harrison becomes All Star for Miracle and then gets promoted as Sano and Rosario leave. He plays 3rd base and LF for Miracle Goodrum plays exclusively at SS for Miracle until Polanco and Sano move up Kepler takes over CF as Buxton moves on
  6. Some MLB franchises actually have their minor league clubs play games at thier MLB ball parks as part of a promotional game. I know it is done with some clubs in the MIdwest league. They either play when the MLB team is out of town or as part of a double hesader. The Lookouts are further away, but wow, would it be worth the cost to set that up if I was the Twins. Kepler plays 1st and rotates in OF until Buxton moves to AAA. No way I start A.B. Walker in Ft. Myers. He starts next to Buxton in RF Turner and Knudsen share time at catcher to start season Rosario; Sano; Buxton; Michael; all start at AA due to missed games due to injury in 2014. The length will depend on them.
  7. If you don't count Vargas and Santana and Benson and add Graham on this list, you have 30 of the 750 prospects from this publication. I think this list is crazy as well, in terms of who and where they have prospects listed. It's obvious they don't truly try to evaluate beyond the top 100. We have 4% of the prospects on this list. Not sure if that is good or bad considering the number of teams in the league? Evaluating per 100. 7% of the Top 100 5% of the Top 200 4% of the Top 300 3% of the Top 400 3% of the Top 500 4% of the Top 600 4% of the Top 700 4% of the Top 750 SCOUTINGBOOK.COM They make this hard to respect. You can tell they have not put in the work to anayze their list. Players on the wrong team. Players who are not eligible for rookie of the year honors because they already played enough games at the MLB level in 2014. Makes you appreciate Jeremy, Seth and the boys that much more for their in depth research.
  8. Seth - yours would be whoever you have listed after 10 on your list. Naturally. I want to know from all those other want to be prospect list makers out there. I say that in a good way too.
  9. I agree with most of your Hitters *Harrison has power potential *Kepler has power potential too but has to show me a full seasons worth of work *Walker is probably as good as Sano if he learns to control zone (Big If / agreed). I think he is defnitely a better athlete and hits as far in games. *Goodrum is my dark horse - switch hitter with consistent numbers from each side. Once he figures it out. *Navaratto is another high risk player who is young enough with great tools offensively and defensively Pitchers *Brett Lee just wins *Tim Shibuya is possibly the best pitcher in the system. Crafty winner *Zach Jones is so underrated. Will pitch the 7th, 8th, or 9th for years to come *Tyler Jones throws in the high 90's and understands "Saves" - Consistency = Dangerous *Chih-Wei Hu power and pitchability
  10. How would Brad Steil answer the below question? Most Twins top 10 prospect list are similar. Therefore: Which remaining prospects have the most upside if they actually reached their potential? and why? Hitters: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Pitchers: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. I'm curious what other prospect rankers think as well?
  11. Agreed. Hunter has a purpose to me. [ On the field and Off ] Robinson maybe, but why not take a chance on an Ortiz or Rosario? I think young people only go into a hole when they aren't prepared for the possibility of failure. If it is explained that they are probably going to fail because they are being moved up quickly and that the organization wants them to learn to fight thru it - It doesn't become an end all promotion. Kids are a lot more resilient than you might expect when spoken to with crystal clear expectations. Live and Learn PROMOTE THEM ALL
  12. I read articles daily about "this prospects" projections and "that prospects" projections. We continuously want to say "Send him back to AAA" so he can learn more about the game. That being said: The Twins have sucked for the last 4 years. We have sent up prospects regularly from AAA who have not met the standard of a MLB player. We state that BA and OBP are the keys to making it in the MLB. Yet one out of two doesn't seem good enough. "Plate discipline is the key to a long career". If that is the case - Who have we sent to the majors in the last 4 years who has shown those credentials? Colabello was the AAA player of the year and there were few TD bloggers who believed in him after his struggles in month two (May) of his MLB career. What is needed for you, the reader, to have true faith in a prospect? Projection or Results? Collabello had Results in the minors and limited results at the MLB level. Hicks had Projection in the minors and limited results at the MLB level. Constant theme is limited results at the MLB level. Vargas and Santana had mixed reviews at the minor league level and now show major projection at the MLB level. What feeds your inconsistent belief system (Projection or Results)? And when you decide - How much rope do you give your prospects when they reach the MLB? Colabello length (2 month) / Hicks length (3 months) / Vargas length (4months) / Santana length (5 months)? Lastly - Who was the last prospect the MN Twins sent back to AAA, who made a major adjustment, and then returned back to the MLB ready to take off??????????????????????? Can't think of a recent prospect. So why do we hang our principles on old standards that haven't proven to be valid for this organization since forever? The Cubs; Twins; Astros; and Rangers have some of the best minor league systems in baseball. What will be the common factor in promoting these prospects across the board and monitoring their success? Will the Twins promotional rituals mirror that of the other 3 highly touted organizations? Do we even know what the Twins expect from their prospects or do we "all" speculate based on sabermetrics and popular blogger opinion?
  13. I'm sure you never thought Vargas (234 PA's) would have more PA's than Hicks (225 PA's) either in 2014. And you would have had to be psychic to think Santana would have (430 PA's) in 2014. That's 205 more than Hicks in 2014. Never say "Zero" chance . Even though those two AA guys (Harrison & Walker) are not on 40 man roster, you should never say "Zero". If one of them hits .350 and leads the minors in HR's and RBI's, whose to say what management might do by mid season? Did you have last years promotions on your radar at this time last year?
  14. This is who I see making the 40 Man after 2015 season and who I see getting released or traded. I allowed for signing 2+ free agents in off season.
