  1. Question: Will Deibinson Romero get a Septmeber call up with the struggles of Trevor Plouffe?
  2. I really enjoyed watching Jamey Carroll play. Many clutch hits. Great hustle. Fantastic glove. These are the kind of guys you really appreciate. Total team player. I wish him the best of luck with KC.
  3. I agree completely. He's done a very nice job coaching 3rd. Much better then the last few years. Hicks should of slid. And with Angel Marquez making the call, you never know, he may of been called safe.
  4. It was mentioned that Wilkin Ramirez is a candidate for the 60 day disabled list. That would allow you to place Albers on the 40 man roster and call him up. His place in the rotation would fit perfectly as he also pitched today and it is time to see what he has got. I think Diamond can find himself again. But he needs to do it in AAA.
  5. Note on Smalley: He was hitting .341 at the All-Star break and led the league in hitting for most of the first half. It was reminiscent of Rod Carew's year when he hit .388. At least for the first half. He got so many big hits for the Twins. But after the break, he went in the tank and hit about .171 the rest of the way.
  6. I like Seager. But none of the others impress me much. If they want Perkins they need to start their offer with Zach Lee.
  7. The Twins should definitely listen to Arizona if any of the above prospects are to be included. Surely there is a fit somewhere. I know it is PCL, but I sure like the SS prospect. Even you adjusted his average say 50 points to comepensate for the the PCL he would be hitting .300 in Rochester. If he plays any defense, he would be a huge upgrade over Floriman. He'd be another piece of the puzzle to get an above average offense that we have missed for awhile in Minnesota.
  8. I know Colabello is tearing up AAA. But he looked a little overwhelmed in his time in the Bigs. His swing looked long and loopy. But granted, it was a small sample size. One of the best Managers the Twins ever had, Gene Mauch, platooned a lot with great results. Cubbage/Castino 3B, Randall/Wilfong 2B, Rivera/Chiles LF and Morales/Adams DH, etc. I like the idea of a Colabello/Parmelee platoon if Morneau is gone. And Colabello's numbers certainly show he is deserving of Seth's Monthly Award and another shot with the Twins.
  9. No one on this list interests me at all. We have enough projects in our own system.
  10. Great article. Tommy is just a great guy. When he can, he interacts with the fans and helps to make the game experience even better. I have no doubt that at some point he will be in Minnesota coaching. What an asset the Twins have in this fine young man.
  11. What kind of culture do the Twins have that they run off player after player.
  12. Good Article. David West was the centerpiece of the trade. Very highly touted as a prospect. And as you pointed out, Tapani and Aggie were the ones who made the trade a good trade for the Twins. But I will always remember in the 1991 Playoffs against Toronto David West came in and shut down Toronto. It was huge, as the Twins had traditionally struggled against Toronto. And the rest is history. 91 World Champs.
  13. I have a ball signed by Bernardo. Can't understand why he never got a real shot. I guess Tom Kelly liked David McCarty even more then Bernardo......or Rich Becker or J.T Bruett. Somehow if Kelly decided you weren't any good or you got on his bad side, you never got a shot.
  14. Would he be the option when Gibson is shutdown?
  15. Why mess up a good thing? He has a defined role in a very good bullpen and is excelling at it. With his past starting numbers I wouldn't expect much more from him as a starter then what you get out of PJ Walters at best. No, don't move him to a starting role.
  16. I'm not ready to give up on Diamond yet. It's the 3rd time thru the order that he needs to change things up a little. As far as Gibson, it won't be long. I think Terry Ryan is already starting to field offers on Pelfrey from some of the contenders. When he is traded, and he will be, we will get our first look at Gibson with Albers coming up when Gibson hits his innings limit.
  17. Besides the obvious names of Duffy, Berrios and Melotakis. Who is the sleeper on the pitching staff that the fans should be following?
  18. If Deron: 1.) Appel 2.) Gray 3.) Bryant 4.) Stewart. How it plays out: 1.) Gray 2.) Appel 3.) Bryant 4.) Stewart
  19. Really like these timely, issue driven, podcasts. Good Job Guys.
  20. Any pitcher is a risk. Look at what happened to Gibson and Wimmers. I'd still take Gray (or Appel) if they fall to us. A rotation of May, Gibson, Gray, Meyer and a another from Wimmers, Deduno, Diamond, Worley, Hendriks, Berrios, Baxendale is just to tempting. It would be so nice to have 3 or 4 top or near top of rotation guys to go along with Sano, Rosario, Arcia, Buxton, Pinto, Hicks in a few years. It's a chance of a lifetime to put together a really balanced team. 20 years from now we might look back at this era as the glory days of Twins baseball. If no pitcher drops and Houston takes Moran, definitely Bryant over a high school kid.
  21. If Gray drops, ya gotta take him!
  22. Don't like the videos on Stewert. Lacks control. All over the place. I hope the Astros take the 3B from N Carolina and one of the big 3 drop to us. If not, Shipley or Stanke, maybe Manea appeal more to me then Stewert.
  23. This article made my day. Paints a bright future for the Twins. Though a few years away, I like our chances of finally finding long term middle infielders from the mix of Polanco, Santana, Goodrum and Michael. Only a few years ago Nate Roberts, Daniel Ortiz would be rated much higher. Shows you how much the minor leagues have improved. Still hoping Hermsen can turn it around following his injury and eventually be a 4/5 rotation guy or that Wimmers will follow Gibson to health and effectiveness. Exciting future for the Twins.
  24. Still miss the Seth Podcasts and Seth Talkin Twins Q&A's that seem to happen infrequently now.
