Rocco seems like a solid choice. In-line with other recently hired young managers who have been very successful. Hopefully the players respond and the front office makes a few big moves in the off season.
There is only one qualification according to Jim Pohlad: “If I had to pick one requirement for somebody going forward, it’s someone that’s lovable. The only way you can be loved is if you’re lovable. We want someone that can ultimately be loved."
Would anyone be surprised to see Gimenez being offered a managerial position in the Twins' system after his playing days are through? Seems like a good candidate.
My personal opinion, we don't know whether or not this move is wise or foolish. It will all depend on how Sano responds. It's said that desperate times call for desperate measures. This seems like a desperate measure. Hopefully it works for Miguel, the Twins and those of us who are rooting for him.
The "maddening" parts have come less frequently of late. He is settling into his game. Not playing out of his shoes like we've seen at times the last few seasons. Eddie is a ballplayer. He is very fun to watch.
One of my favorite Twins players. I am hoping a Japanese contract is in his future, because I am pretty confident that would be his best path at this point.
Does Molitor deserve another year? I've never been a big fan, but yes, he definitely does. The team does seem to be on his side. I'd like to see what happens with a beefed up bullpen. Short leash, but I'm onboard.
