  1. that seems to be a good comparison. and now that you say it, I completely see it.
  2. Q: out of all the trades the pirates trading Fran and spects are the most puzzling. Jeff Sullivan: Did you see the Hector Santiago trade?
  3. very smart deadline work by the Yanks. might have been the biggest winner at the deadline.
  4. Most people Meyer's size aren't frontline starters. Not sure why that is. Maybe they have hard time consistently getting the ball in the low part of the zone, I don't know. There's obviously one glaring exception to the rule, but most people aren't inner circle HOF type pitcher like Big Unit.
  5. Yeah, it's mostly about positional adjustments. It's why even the best 1Bs have negative DEFs (but 19 shortstop has positive DEFs). Only one 1B has a positive DEF this year, for example.
  6. I binge-watched the first couple seasons of 21 Jump Street when I was TDY in Cyprus. They had been donated to the Armed Forces Network who distributed them to us. They were on Beta Max :-)
  7. there is zero risk to putting anyone on waivers at this point. it's done to gauge interest most of the time, and they are easily pulled back. could put the whole team on there and there would be zero risk.
  8. Indians did pretty well in getting Miller (last night not withstanding), and I see most sites recognizing that and declaring them as one of the deadline winners.
  9. and with a pretty low BABIP as well, if I remember correctly.
  10. What IS the color of skeptical? is it a mix between green and orange? :-)
  11. I have absolutely no problems at all with giving up Meyer.
  12. yeah, you never know, he could end up being flipped in the offseason or trade deadline next year. it's not like this guy has been horrible his whole career, just tends to walk a few more than we like around here :-)
  13. does it really matter? Did we want to keep watching Nolasco? I know I didn't. So it's a trade I like.
  14. Dave Cameron called it the weirdest trade of the day (year). I'm fine with it because Nolasco is gone and because we won't need a GPS tracker to know where Meyer is at any given time ;-)
  15. Gibson is a reliable under-30 starter? Half of that is true :-)
  16. yeah, I had a ton of problems being able to access any thread as well.
  17. what do you think a mediocre pitcher like Gibson would get us? Oh, and how would we be selling high on him?
  18. I knew what you meant, I just thought it was funny.
  19. Mauer 4-4, 5 times on base, 2 extra base hits, 4 runs scored.
  20. just might need to start re-thinking who AL ROY is going to be :-)
  21. I've been sold on Kepler for a long while now.
