  1. I like Span as much as the next guy, and would take him over Revere, but there is no way it makes any sense to trade a cheap alternative to Span, when they need to re-tool an entire pitching staff. Span will fetch them move in a trade then Revere
  2. If you can't trade him, you let him walk next year.
  3. It would be nice to have him back just to hear Gardie talk about Lohshie in his post games...
  4. Absolutely should keep Denduno with the big club. What do they have to lose?!?! Even if he only goes 5 innings, it's 5 innings the Blackburn/DeVries/et al aren't pitching.
  5. What he said!!
  6. RE: Trade Revere - As much as it makes sense to do, I'm not sure the return on him is all that high. If his upside is still a Juan Pierre-type, and as you say he is already basically at his ceiling, if you're another team, do you give up a high upside pitcher?!?!?! I guess I probably would not, but it only takes one team...bring it on!!!
  7. Although sound logic, and as you say, he'd be available for only money...something just doesn't sit right with me re: Cliff Lee. I just get the sneaky suspicion his return to the AL wouldn't be all that great. On the flip side, with most of the Twins position players in their prime years...it might be time to take the gamble and do it. Alright, I've talked myself into it.....go get him!
  8. No gnews is good gnews says Gary Gnus.
  9. Completely and utterly shocked!!! Who would have guessed he would need surgery after trying to pitch through a partially torn UCL. <insert heavy heavy doses of sarcasm>
  10. Absolutely should start blowing things up. It's been almost two years of the same results, time to start over. With most of the *impact* prospects still a couple years away, might as well load up on some more in hope of striking some gold with that class
  11. Butera makes the Ramos trade acceptable!!!!! Butera's next trick is to solve world hunger.
  12. TC Bear?!?!?!
  13. Plouffey!! Gotta give him a position, let him stick there for a month or so. As repeated often, they aren't going to win this year. Give Plouffe an extended look at one position. If it doesn't work out, cut bait and signed washed up veteran Joey Bag-o-donuts or whatever. No use bringing up Sano and having him completely struggle
  14. I won't pretend to know how to identify, evaluate, and project amateur talent, but man, they sure have a bad track record. Makes me want to go all Dan Osterbrock on the twitter machine.
  15. Come on, everyone knows the first thing you do is ask for 100 more wishes..... Then you go in full rebuild mode come July. Build up trade value for all players and start selling immediately. Rebuild, rebuild, rebuild.
  16. Holy irrational fear of losing a catcher for the day. I don't get Gardy's obsession. If Mauer gets injured in a game where Doumit is DH'ing, you lose what, 2 at bats max where a pitcher has to bat?!?! Who cares!! Call up someone from AAA the next day if needed. The idea of carrying an inferior bat (Drew) just in the off chance they need the pitcher to bat (whom probably can hit better than Butera anyway) is just plain dumb.
