  1. I wouldn't fall into any of the specific categories per se, but if I had to choose, it would probably be #1. Getting a tax payer funded stadium, then only spending according to revenue streams, although makes good business sense, just rubs me the wrong way. I also know there are many companies that do the exact same thing, it's just a little more public and visible coming from the baseball team
  2. I understand there's more to player development...a player's prime years are also his age 26-29 seasons. With Sano being 21, you can develop him longer and he still won't be hitting his prime. With Gibson, he is about to enter his prime.
  3. Gibson is 25. If he is close, why waste his arm in the minors? Get him acclimated to MLB hitters asap
  4. Trade him while his value is high!!!
  5. I have found that as I continue to play baseball (over 35 league), it has reminded me how hard the game truly is and enables me to better relate to the kids I coach...I also invite them out to watch me play so they can give me crap when I screw up.
  6. Chatting with yourself...there is a fine line between genius and insane.
  7. Happy with that production?!?! Estatic with that production.
  8. Two 30 HR's guys on the same team?!?!?! Is that allowed in baseball?!?!? Nice work overall. It'll be fun to see how close you get
  9. Agreed. The was my initial thought....but then when I sat back and looked at it, it isn't nearly as bad as some of the contracts listed there. Mauer still produces at a high level at a premium position. Most of the contracts listed there were positions where you need to be an elite hitter for the length of the contract to make it not an albatross.
  10. Twins need hitter first. I can see it now...Floriman ripping a wicked 4 hopper to 2B...
  11. Why I tend to lean towards Seth here, it is refreshing to have a debate about something other than the crappy pitching decisions.
  12. Lots of commentators sure seem to be putting a lot of faith in Diamond... Wish I had the same faith.
  13. I drink the *there is no such thing as a bad one year contract* kool aid.
  14. Is it too early to DFA Correia? Just a bit. I would say they have to wait til the end of February, then it's ok.
  15. I think the answer is *No* to both.
  16. I don't agree with the signing at all....but seriously, if they are having that much trouble attracting pitchers, why not just go 1 year 8 million?!?! Or something like that? Why compound the mistake by giving him 2 years? It makes zero sense to me
  17. Absolutely agree. Kinda gives Gardy a chance to work with his new staff and see how they coexist
  18. If the Twins are punting on 2013 (and it *sounds* like they are...), might as well move him in a buyers market. Better to move him a year early, than a year late where more of his warts are exposed and the return dwindles.
  19. Think he'll lobby for his infield-mate Scott Stahoviak to be enshrined as well?!?!?!
  20. Trade em. Rebuild the pitching throughout the org.
  21. Not saying Plouffe is the be all end all at 3b, but on a team going nowhere in 2013, give the dude 600 at bats and see what happens.
  22. I think it's moves like this that get the impatient crowd going.... Knowing all along Atlanta would be a great fit for a trading partner, then seeing Atlanta sign a CF....it just feels like a lost opportunity.
  23. Agreed. If we are going down the *let's sign a terrible pitcher who might have upside path*, let's go with someone else's trash instead of continuing to re-cycle ours.
