  1. Calm down brother...it was meant as hyperbole. So what we're left with is that you wanted to come here and put stink on Gardenhire for an imagined and invented mis-use of a theoretical 2013 Capps by using an exaggerated (one could say BS instead) accusation of mis-use of a past player ( when that was more accurately probably the best player available to be used in the role in question)? Am I calm enough to have that about right? its been a pleasure....
  2. Not to defend Delmon at all, but in theory, it might be hard to drive in 80 runs hitting behind them because Miggy and Prince drove in all the runs before Delmon got up. That being said, yeah, Delmon is stinky.
  3. you hit that out of the park , perfectly said Except Punto's had 500 AB's in a season exactly ZERO times. He's hit 500 PA's only twice. In one of those years he put up a 290/352/373. Were you sad about not getting more time for Tony Batista that year? Or was it someone else you just had to have on the field to feel good? The following year he got to 500 PA's again and was pretty bad at the plate....and I'm still not sure who on that roster you were wanting to play instead. I promise you it's possible to be snarky and negative without telling lies. Although you might have to think a tad more, that's not the worst thing in the world. Calm down brother...it was meant as hyperbole.
  4. I view Capps the same way I viewed Punto....they can't sign him because Gardy, much like with giving Punto 500 at bats, won't be able to help himself and will use him as a closer.
  5. Only if he gets one of those red eyes that open and close like a lens....those are scary.
  6. This information is what it was expected, and what the Star tribune reported today, that the option was declined. Now, what Thrylos is saying is that they are working in a totally different contract. In order to do so, the Twins have to decline the option. Not to nitpick...but what Thrylos said was not that they "are working in a totally different contract." I'm sure that's probably true. Thrylos' claim is that the "Twins re-signed Baker." Done deal. Totally different claim. We shall see. Declining the option was implied, I think. Did anyone seriously believe the Twins were going to guarantee Baker $9m in 2013? Agreed. I was under the assumption that the original post was a about a decline and re-sign....which it still appears to be the case (awaiting the resign)
  7. Agreed. If not, then what was the purpose of drafting those type of arms.
  8. Buehrle - might as well. Yeah he doesn't strike a ton out, but he is a competent pitcher on a current staff that doesn't have any (exception being Diamond)
  9. Giants didn't need power to win the World Series.... I kid, of course. They absolutely should continue to search for cheap power sources. Especially when no power Revere/Carroll/Whomever is SS are going to be getting approx 1500 at bats
  10. I thought the whole idea of drafting all those college power arms last year was that some of them would turn into relievers very quickly, while some would turn into starters. With the volatile nature of relievers, I'm not sure the #2 priority should be finding relievers. Relievers should just be a checkbox item that is done every offseason.
  11. He hit .296/.358/.454 (.811) with 8 doubles, 3 homers and 22 RBI in 26 games in the AFL last year. Not exactly tearing it up (for the AFL) I should have said relative to his future expectations as a player....
  12. I'm pretty sure Dozier tore it up in the AFL last year...we all saw how well that translated to the bigs the following season.
  13. Timmy would be classic definition of buying low....if taking on $22M (not to mention whatever trade asset is needed to complete the trade) can be called buying low.
  14. Honestly, this is all on management....can't fault the guy for taking a salary the Twins stupidly paid.
  15. Baker is a no-doubter in my mind. The dude is a quality pitcher (albiet not super durable) on a staff that is full of question marks to say the least.
  16. Awesome job!!! Format was cool, although I think you need a *stealth mode* so a person can be more discreet when reading at work Also TR interview was very cool.
  17. I think it's awesome (awesome in the sarcastic form) that people complain about the ad-content of a free site, promoting one of the only avenues the writers have to recoup some of the costs to run the site, while also providing the site users with even more content. Some people just like to complain.
  18. Does he agree with the perception that the Twins hold onto prospects too long and they either become *suspects* or completely stall out in the minors entirely?
  19. Noooooo!!!!!
  20. As stated above....pretty simple. He is the face of the most hated team , so he gets booed. Comes with the territory.
  21. Yes
  22. It'll be disappointing, but it absolutely will happen.
  23. Nice!! It's easy to forget just how valuable Radke was.
  24. Pitching and SS should be their priority every single season until they figure it out.
