  1. With the way Dozier and Mauer have been hitting in the 2nd half, maybe it wasn't that bad a move? I could not see how far he was out by, since I was at work, although.
  2. We haven't had a hit since the 2nd inning, and this guy walks Esco? It's very hard to walk Esco....How have we not gotten to this guy since the 2nd?
  3. However, he get's out of it!!! This might be good Erving and not bad Erving today.
  4. Not great to walk Choo and get to face the Fielder...
  5. Beltre has not mentioned he is retiring has he? If not, than I see him getting much closer to 3k hits. If he plays two more years, he has to be a lock doesn't he? Elite, elite fielder with old school pop. Really wanted the twins to trade for him when he was on the marked back in mid 2000 (after Koskie)...
  6. This is good news indeed, as we all good use a little "bump". Hopefully he rakes at AAA, and gets back up to the bigs.
  7. That the rub though isn't it? I mean can Torii except that role? My guess is that he cannot. He should/could hit 20 bombs this year and he will expect to play next year. When the Twins sign him, it will be for 120 games minimum.
  8. Torii has supplied slightly more value than I thought he would (when I was staunchly against this move in the off season). However, like I said before, my youngest son likes Torii. My mom and sister both LOVE Torii (although neither know what OB% is). For those reasons stated there, and his undying love of veterans (who were his guys), I am guessing that TR signs Torii (70% chance that he does). I of course will light my hair on fire when this happens.
  9. Artcher not bad that inning...good!
  10. Yes Duensing! Now we can battle back.
  11. Suzuki up there swinging against Manship...how about take a pitch? My god.
  12. Molly get's a little rope here, but not TR. Right about May, what better way to stretch him out?
  13. nice left handed at bat for hicksy, although it was against Manship
  14. shame on molly for leaving Pelf in that long
  15. You're thinking Mauer will sit against lefties? Although extremely logical, what in tarnation makes you think that Molly or the FO would let that happen and admit defeat with Joe? I'm thinking Mauer will play another 140 games at first base and rarely sit, thus blocking the Twins from developing more young players (see Sano, Kepler, Vargas) in the field or getting more at bats. Also, I fully do not expect the twins to trade Ploufe (which they should if they are going to keep Mauer at first 140 plus games), keeping the weird log jam going...
  16. It's exciting to see Hicks playing better this time around. However, I think we should all temper our expectations. His splits are still pretty insane: from gleeman: • Aaron Hicks' improved overall performance is very encouraging from a one-time top prospect who's still just 25 years old, but not being able to hit right-handed pitching remains a big issue. This season he's hit .375/.429/.578 off lefties and .228/.291/.315 off righties. For his career he's hit .288/.374/.466 off lefties and .197/.277/.287 off righties. Hicks is a switch-hitter, but in both the minors and the majors he's shown little ability to be an asset from the left side of the plate. At this point and time, he still projects out to be a part time player, unless he can get those left side numbers up. The advantage (if you want to call it that) with him getting all of Buxton's playing time, is that we should know even more by September.
  17. Also, the Twins have come out and said they are not signing Torii, fan favorite?
  18. BK, I saw that article you referred to under #1, and basically sent the same words to my brother (who had sent me the link)...too funny. Do we know why Torii is getting the night off and Robinson is playing? At least Torii can hit a mistake from time to time.
  19. I'd run this lineup out: 1. Hicks (he's seriously turned it around) 2. Rosario (hitting reasonably well and fast enough to stay out of enough DP's) 3, Dozier 4. Sano (Having a power threat in front and behind him might actually get him pitches to hit) 5. Plouffe 6. Hunter 7. Mauer (He's a .265-.270 hitter with no power. He belongs down here) 8. Suzuki 9. Escobar Not sure I think Hicks has "seriously turned it around", as he still cannot hit batting left handed....he has played better though....
  20. No verified proof, besides what Torii has said, and the Twins pattern of behavior with veterans they like
  21. Should we be alarmed, that once again Dozier is fizzling in the 2nd half of the season...for the 3rd straight year? Don't get me wrong, he's our best player, but the k's and super low batting average are cause for concern. The Twins refusal to talk about or deal with (I'm projecting to the future off season) about the problem that is Joe Mauer, is going to become a real big issue in the media. As it should be. Finally, most of us know the Twins are going to extend Torii, perpetuating the problems from this 2nd half into 2016 (as he gets a year older). There is no guarantee that 2016 is going to be better (with hitting), as the Twins obvious flaws have finally caught up with them. We can hope that these veteran issues are ironed out (haven't touched on Suzuki) in the off season...not real optimistic they will be though.
  22. Couldn't you substitute the name Duensing in the above post and have the exact same expected answer?
  23. Rosario has proven his arm is very inaccurate. Maybe he is a lot like Jaque. No plate discipline, and a terribly inaccurate arm.
  24. This team, feels like it could be no hit at some point and time soon...
  25. I wish I could say that inning was shocking....
