    I find it hard to believe that a young Man who has the Athletic ability to be a Major League Catcher, cannot do better at the Plate. Does he work on his hitting in the off Season? Anything less then five days a week with a Hitting Instructor would be disappointing. It comes down to( how bad do you want it?). Hopefully he does.

    There is a good chance that payroll drops again next year. Less revenue= lower payroll. Next January, Phil Mackey could be defending an Eighty Two Million dollar payroll.

    Danny Valencia is going to have a solid year. He worked very hard this off Season. Jarred Burton will be a solid set up man which we so desperately need.

    Last year, the Pohlads made 16 million dollars profit on the team and the year before they made 27million. Last year the Twins sold more tickets then 26 other teams. That is why some of the fans expect a little more this year.

    The beat reporters such as LaVelle have been supportive of these guys. Its the commentary guys such as Phil Mackey and Jim Souhan who feel that their private domain is being invaded. Souhan has been the Cheap Shot Artist. Below are some of his comments. "Wow, I make fun of Bloggers and lose three followers.     Below is a direct twitter quote from Phil Mackey. I find this amusing coming from someone with limited objectivity. Non Cooperate views need to be put in their place. "I appreciate the work of some sports bloggers. But at times I think some of their platforms are too large in 2012. No accountability."

    What a concept! A place where a wide variety of views and opinions can be expressed along with respectable debate. A place where criticism of the Twins Organization is tolerated. Readers with opposing views will not be described as "stupid, misinformed, spoiled ,crazy and dumb" I can see why the likes of Phil Mackey and Jim Souhan are so irritated. Keep up the great work!!

    Jarred Burton will make this ball club. He has been a solid and established setup man in the past. How many of the other candidates have that on their resume? The best pitchers will fill out the bullpen, regardless if they are on the 40 man roster or not.

    For a second year in a row, the Twins will realize revenue of 213 million dollars. The Twins sold 55000 less tickets last year, but their second year price increase more than made up for it. Gates sales were up one million dollars. The Twins profits(before taxes, etc.) dropped from 26.5 to 16.6 million dollars. The higher payroll might have been a reason for the Ten million dollar drop in profit. It appears that the Pohlad’s are attempting to recoup the 10 million dollars as quickly as possible. (Slashing payroll?) To some degree, this is being shortsighted after a 99 loss season. There will be plenty of opportunity to lower payroll during the upcoming rebuilding years. There is another interesting item the Forbes numbers show. Some of the most profitable teams in baseball are the little sisters of the poor. Teams such as Kansas City, Tampa and Cleveland, produce large profits by putting out a low cost product and accepting lower attendance. Are we eventually heading in this direction?

    Burnett was a big contributor to the misery at Target Field last year. HE needs to go to Rochester, and learn how to pitch.

    It will be interesting to see how the Rochester fans, take to Nishioka. He could become a fan favorite if he plays well.
