  1. And now, in contrast to the soft-tossing lefty finesse pitcher Tommy Milone, we bring you... The soft-tossing lefty finesse pitcher Andrew Albers. This is sure to confuse the Astros, who can't be sure what's the difference. Did one of them have a beard??
  2. Well, at least the young players can relax now. Pretend it's just another game in Rochester, but with a smaller crowd... On the other hand, the echoes in Target Field must sound a little eerie...
  3. So, does Albers come in after Milone gives up (the first) seven runs?
  4. I didn't see where that Correia home run went. Did the baseball actually disintegrate?
  5. Bravo, Eduardo Escobar. He's got the arm to pitch, and you could see he felt no pressure, flipping the ball around, very relaxed. The hitters couldn't sit on a zone, just swing at anything near. Good example of "effectively wild."
  6. Was Doumit unable to throw a runner out? It was a long time ago, I don't remember.
  7. Interesting Wiki on RATM https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rage_Against_the_Machine Lead vocalist/writer Zach de la Rocha was the spirit of the band's revolutionary image, but he quit in 2000 over disagreements over the band's direction. Interestingly, there's recent noise that Zach might appear with the band's new incarnation, Prophets of Rage http://www.alternativenation.net/zack-de-la-rocha-rage-against-the-machine-surprise/ I'd go to that.
  8. That last out was kinda funny. Shaggy is zinging 97mph heaters knee high, so the batter crouched down really low and swung flat. Result: Flat line drive to Grossman. It sorta worked...
  9. Silver Lining Dept: Shaggy has found a level of drama he can handle. Looks pretty good!
  10. Waterloo time for Buddy Boshers. Looks like they're gonna let him take a righteous pounding for the team.
  11. BTW, Pandora radio is actually a little better lately. Seems like fewer commercials, and I'm digging the Rage Against the Machine station.
  12. Okay, it's time for Too Much Information comments. Hot topix: - Bowel movements - Skin conditions - That thing in your teeth - Infected cuts - Stuff in the back of the fridge - Hair in odd places - Found in the street - What I saw in a dumpster Actually, I could cover most of those right now...
  13. I have a comment! I know I have a comment somewhere around here... under the desk... no, not there... No Comments Matter?
  14. Twins pitchers are making it more difficult to win this game.
  15. Okay, so let's all mute the Houston homies and crank up the death metal. No Lives Matter!!
  16. What's with Berrios, anyway? I understand early career jitters, but did he really get to the bigs throwing pitches this flat? Major leaguers just LOVE pitches with a nice, flat trajectory. How does that translate into Berrios being a front line starter? This ledge is high, and birds seem to have no trouble... ;-)
  17. I suppose I could just mute the chuckling Houston homies and listen to something else... light jazz... I wonder if ogerish.com is still around? Photos of gruesome crash victims might cheer me up.
  18. I think we're beginning to see why Rosario Buxton Kepler is a better outfield than Grossman Rosario Kepler. Grossman's defense looks a lot like Oswaldo Arcia's.
  19. Astros ambushing Berrios, hitting a lot of line drives. Something other than fastballs on the first pitch, Jose? Boy, they sure are hitting that Berrios slider hard.
  20. I would rather listen to the radio broadcast than to the Houston homies, but as soon as I connect the audio feed, it's 20 seconds earlier than the video feed, so I hear Max Kepler flies out just as I see him step to the plate. Grrrrrrrr..... Back to the Houston homies.
  21. That was hilarious. Altuve smokes a ball off the CF wall, stupid throw home by the cutoff, then Centeno throws the ball about where the left fielder usually stands...
  22. I watched Albers in person shut down I think the Royals in either his debut or his second start. It was like watching a master tightrope walker. He was painting corners the whole time. Of course, that's the problem with pitchers that can't bring it at higher speeds - they have to do something else to keep hitters down. Super precision, hide the ball, change speeds, throw a knuckler, etc. Albers has a lot in common with Tommy Milone. Both guys have a normal mix of pitches, but because they don't bring it in at least the low 90's, they need to master the art of precise location and mixing it up. One thing for sure about guys like that - it's going to be interesting watching them work.
  23. You Minnesota guys might need a submarine to stay dry in a few minutes. Look at all the red on that radar!
  24. Wow, the Twins are doing a piranha job on Houston. Hitting the ball everywhere there's a little gap. Nice.
