  1. I am sorry to inform you that you have been traded for Brian Duensing!
  2. I have already trademarked it! Royalties may be forwarded via Pay Pal! I will send my account and routing number if you promise not to share it with anyone?
  3. I am SO glad you cleared that up for every one!
  4. During ST GT posts will not be evaluated until the last 10 days of ST. Veterans like the Chief and Brian will needless to say not have to post during road games, nor will any of their post mean anything. Brian will simply be working on his sophmoric sense of humor, and Chief on his brief but biting commentary. No one expects either to go all out until the games count! I, while not anywhere near veteran status, am comfortable enough in my position as the 25th man on the roster to spend some time watching the end of "the Walking Dead" to see whether Twins scouts should be following any of the zombies for a possible playoff drive FA signing?
  5. According to my flip phone calculator, it would only take 600 pitches to SO 200 times at this rate. Free swinging like that will never allow us to achieve our offensive goals! Getting into the other teams BP!
  6. You failed to include sliding into first, the most important of metrics!
  7. This truly could be one of the great Jekyll and Hyde teams of all time. The big winners might be those ho like to comment on the team! There isn't going to be a shortage of topics!
  8. The bottom line is Sano is the RF. The only thing that will change that is an injury, heaven forbid! Even if he is a compilation of Willingham, EE, and the last iteration of Jason Kubel, they are not pulling the pin on the "Sano Experiment"! Between the amount of money invested in Park, Mauers remaining contract, the Plouffe intrangience, and FO pride, to do so would be a seismic event. Ain't gonna happen!
  9. This just occurred to me! To test the philosophy that the 3B market is as weak as stated, maybe they should put Sano and Plouffe on the block. The offers for each would be an indication of the relative value of each player. I think it would be a fun exercise!
  10. If you put homerism, sugar coating and BS aside, team statistics generally reflect the operating philosophies of the management. (FO + Field Staff). The Twins for as long as I can remember have concentrated on reducing BB vs SO's. And it's still reflected in last years numbers. Some will say this is changing. And while I don't disagree, as they say, "the proof is in the pudding"! They dabbled with Tonkin and Meyer last year. And while neither were at all blameless, the hook was for them applied far faster than it has been with struggling PTC style relievers. I sincerely think the Twins know that BP structure has evolved. They would have to be sound asleep not too. But as SO rates go up, so do BB rates. This season will tell if the Twins can stomach the latter, to get to the former!
  11. We were to the Yankees what the Detroit Lions were to Buds Vikings. Btw Mike, of course there's luck in cribbage! But I always thought it was a game that required a little more skill than others. I also think it tends to be a defensive game. Unless all hope is lost, I never thought bold play was a winning strategy. All that aside, your wife winning 90% of the time might be far better than her losing 90% of the time.
  12. He don't have none!
  13. In the last two days the Trib has carried 3 or 4 pieces trying to comfort the afflicted that the "Sano Experiment" will succeed. They even made some comparisons: Killebrew to LF, Carew to 1B etc. the only relative comp was Cuddyer to RF, and that included the notation that it took a couple years for the transition to "succeed"! But by far my favorite was including Plouffes adventures out on the grass. Not exactly a calming effect for me. And to show they were desperate for examples they included Puckett from CF to RF.
  14. If I missed the satire I apologize! Otherwise! Bad news! If anyone thinks the manager names the 25-40 man rosters, their not paying attention! That was abundantly clear during the Gardy administration!
  15. Honestly, there are times I think the Twins LOOK for reasons to NOT promote players, than reasons to promote them!
  16. It might be awhile, I think like the HOF there is a waiting period? 5 years? (Or until you can't find another team, whichever comes first)
  17. Yes, we used to be able to unite behind a single cause! And a single solution. Trade Duensing for Grienke, and we win the WS. Now, divided, we are in danger of being overrun by the "Mauer Sucks" faction of TD. If something isn't done to stop them, they will take control of TD, and we will all end up living in our Moms basements! (On the other hand, someone actually in control of TD is a novel though)
  18. All this needs is music to become a best seller in the Rap market! Maybe not even music, just somebody pounding on something. I have always wondered if in 2065 there will be a Rap Oldies but Goodies radio format? Or maybe a best hits by PDiddy? (It seems I have too much time on my hands)
  19. Or a groundhog? Will we see 6 more weeks of winter?
  20. The question is: Does Willmar State College? I would have sworn JC was a two yr program?
  21. A sobering GD thread note. With Duensing gone, who will be our main trade chip this season? Nolasco could be a candidate but by May 1 he could be too valuable to banter about? ROFLMAO
  22. I don't think the issue with Sano, for me at least,is playing RF as much as it is with the way it came about. Up until November the path was constant, even the DH, some third, hurt, and no third, stint last year made sense. Then remarkably they decided he could not replace Plouffe, and magically becomes a RF? It's either a case of an extreme lack of foresight and planning, or the Twins suddenly found out that third baseman have become worthless on the trade market. And as for the idea that 1B is his eventual home, that could be. But it's not as if we don't have enough of a log jam there also. On one other point, why is Burdi drinking around with a splitter. A notoriously hard pitch on elbows?
  23. The word permanently is important. Lol. I think he played some of the finest third base I have ever seen one year. (The years tend to blur) He had an exceptional defensive year there. He just didn't quite hit as a 3B man!
  24. SS size alert. But with Florimon in 2013 the Twins led the majors in turning DP. Easily. In 2014 we were just alight below avg, and in 2015 just slightly above avg. More than just the SS goes into that stat, but it's not necessarily a coincidence that Pedro was the SS when we led the league. I prefer great defense up the middle to offense. On a team still participating in the PTC league it's even more important. EE is a nice solid average player. A team of them will have a nice solid average season. Sooner or later we need to upgrade a bunch of positions above that level. And SS is one.
  25. I can see it now, a new Post. Twins too cheap to put a roof on TF, or keep Punto. Greedy owners raise price of beer, tobacco, and brats. And it's a well know fact that Jim Pohlad does not like dogs! Goes a minimum of 8 pages!
