  1. I would add earning the split with Milwaukee as being critical, more so since the team is short-handed due to injuries.
  2. Forgot Castillo had been called up. That would be a better scenario, but I think Correa may be headed to the IL. Though he hasn't played since last Friday, essentially a 10 day IL stint. The team needs him healthy if they are going to make a run at Cleveland in the second half.
  3. No Martin or Julien in last nights line-up, maybe a couple of moves coming? Correa to IL and Camargo returning to AAA?
  4. Twins relief pitchers have been horrible at not allowing inherited runners to score - an MLB worst 45% (49/109 inherited runners) have scored. But the 3 lefties are the worst offenders; Thielbar 57% (8/14), Okert 54% (7/13) and Funderburk 47% (9/19) have combined to allow 24 of 46 inherited runners, 52%, to score. I don't know if this is because they are brought into face a LHB with runners on and don't get him out and then have to face a bunch of RHB or what, but this needs to be corrected or it will cost the team in close games and possibly the play-offs. My personal opinion is that all 3 nibble at the edges too much and get beat when they have to throw it in the zone. Challenge the batters early and make them chase a pitchers pitch with two strikes instead of the other way around.
  5. Late to the party and haven't really read previous responses but it looked to me like most of the runs this weekend would have been prevented by a MLB centerfielder. Margot needs to go and Kiersey needs to be brought up, might have saved 2 games this weekend.
  6. Leave it to the Twins to make Snell look like a CyvYoung winner again 😂
  7. Would rather have Lee at SS and Castro at 2B, but its Rocco's call not mine...
  8. For those of you still wanting Berrios: After his start on 4/20: 5 GS, 4-0 W/L, 0.85 ERA, 27/9 K/BB, .205 BAA, 2 HR Since: 15 GS, 4-7 W/L, 5.15 ERA, 60/24 K/BB, .259 BAA, 19 HR He has regressed (and then some) to his career norms since the hot start - Toronto can keep him because he is what he is...
  9. It's a slow, steady process; Cleveland is 5-5, 10-10 & 16-14 over their last 10, 20 & 30 games, Minnesota is 6-4. 13-7, & 20-10 over the same period. Inching ever closer...
  10. I don't know, gotta follow KCs lead and go for the sweep....just sayin'
  11. Trade deadline adds: Lewis, Topa & Stewart from IL Lopez returns to second half 2023 form
  12. And the replay clearly showed he did not swing....
  13. How is Farmer not on first. Knuckles and wood don't exactly sound the same....
  14. 12 in a row, 13 straight on base...
  15. A little retaliation for Altuve getting plunked last night?
  16. Down 8 in the bottom of the 9th is a very acceptable time to PH, even for a guy with 10 straight hits. And TD is bent out of shape because the PH (Martin) got a hit!! I'm more upset that Lopez went out for the 6th. Bring Alcala in to start the 6th with a 4-3 lead and it might be a different game, perhaps even a W for the good guys. Putting Winder in what was a 2 run game was more or less throwing in the towel, giving him a second inning was plain irresponsible. As for how much momentum scoring 7 runs in the bottom of the 9th may give the team, remember, Houston scored 10 runs from the 6th inning on. The bigger take-away from the 9th may be that Correa took Hader deep in a game he shouldn't have been pitching in.
  17. Keith hitting Twins pitching a little to well the last couple of games
  18. With Buxton having the day off I would rather see Castro in CF and Martin at 2B instead of the other way around. Also, an odd time to give Santana a day off, but Margot has better numbers against Maeda. We'll see how it works out.
  19. .120/.237/..300 is job-losing-worthy!! (sarcasm) The Twins got them back by signing Castro. (not sarcasm) Festa not looking very good (also not sarcasm)
  20. Lee promoted to the big club. Glad to be wrong (I figured Julien or Wallner would get the call).
