    On any given day, playoffs included, the lack of fundamentals at the MLB level can by seen from any team; bad secondary leads, overthrows to the cut-off man, not knowing the count/how many outs, inability to sacrifice bunt, etc...

    St. Louis had 5 LHP in that series, and 3 of them started 5 of 7 games (Tudor 2, Magrane 2 and Mathews 1). LHP threw 29.2 IP, RHP threw 29.1 IP. Hrbek faced a LHP in 17 of 29 PA in that WS; 2-16 (.125), 3/1 K/BB (his only 3 K's in the WS) 1 HR, 6 RBI, but came up big when needed. He was 3-8 (.375), 0/4 K/BB (.583 OBP), 0 HR, 0 RBI against RHP Larkin PH 4 times, each of the 3 games in STL as the pitchers still hit in the NL park at that time, and once for Randy Bush (F-8 against Dayley in game 2, an 8-4 Twins win. If the game was closer I think Baylor, not Larkin, hits for Bush). He also played 1B in the 9th inning of game 1, a 10-1 blow out victory for the Twins. so his totals were; 5 GP, 0-3, 0/1 K/BB in the series. Even with all this information, it is hard to tell if Rocco PH's for Hrbek against Dayley in that spot, I don't think so because Hrbek was one of the core players, but he was struggling and the team was on the verge of elimination. Thank goodness TK let him hit!!

    No system is infallible. As for being unbiased, the zone is only as good as the parameters that define it - the zones we see on TV, on MLB.com, ESPN.com, Baseball Savant, etc... have all shown the same pitch in different spots. It should get better, we'll see...

    CG, 4 H, 8/0 K/BB, 105 pitches by Yamamoto, post-season pitching as it should be...

    It would be irresponsible to trade him just for the sake of trading him. After Lopez (who I suppose will be the subject of the next trade-bait article) and Ryan, there are zero starters I trust for next year, Ober being unable to regain velocity is quite concerning. Throw the kids out there? Only if you want a 100+ loss team. SWR is too inconsistent (typical of a 4th or 5th startter), Festa (if healthy enough to pitch in '26) Bradley, and Matthews have not shown that either is a MLB level SP, Abel did not look ready for prime time and Rojas, Raya, Prielipp and Morris are wild cards at this point, probably better off starting the season in the BP and moving to the rotation for '27, if there is a '27 season.

    Cardenas played more games and had a higher bWAR and fWAR than Correa despite playing 1/2 season less. Guzman only had 7.6 bWAR and 5.1 fWAR, he is above neither.

    My eye test of Lee's PAs tells me he is a horrible 2-strike hitter, swinging at some horrible pitcher's pitches and pitches just off the plate, just trying to make contact. If he can somehow improve upon this he becomes a serviceable MLB player.

    I would try him at 1B, the organization does not have one in the system, and we know the team isn't pursuing the Polar Bear....
