  1. Parity is easily the best thing about the NFL.
  2. Seattle is 3rd best rushing defense ...
  3. I think one thing we've kinda ignored is that Flores might have a really good game plan for Darnold, since he saw him so much last year. I think we're going to lose pretty badly but there is a scenario where the defense keeps us in the game and the offense scores just enough to win.
  4. This might be one worth skipping, unfortunately.
  5. Rooting like crazy for Michigan today but I think Ohio State is a machine.
  6. I'm kind of hoping that a soft reboot helps him. He'll miss the ass-kicking in Seattle but likely start the following week at home against Washington. Washington's defense isn't great. Maybe sitting for a week might help clear his head a bit. The Warner video showed that his biggest problem might be making his reads fast enough. But, yeah, it's a mess.
  7. I haven't seen Warner's QB reviews before but this one was pretty good. Explains some of the stuff we all already knew - JJ needs to work on touch v. 100 mph throws and general concerns about his accuracy. But also points out some other mechanical flaws and also minor mistakes made by others (Addison running a route slightly wrong based on corner's leverage) as well as scheme and read progression. Seems to catch a lot in his review. Pretty interesting.
  8. Lawrence is interesting since he's playing for Grant Idinski (sp), who was our assistant offensive coordinator (or something). He's likely playing a KOC-style offense. On the other hand, Jax is likely making the playoffs for the second time so probably wouldn't trade him.
  9. I mean trading Burrow is actually a good idea for Cincy at this point. He'll be 30 next year. He does have real injury history but he's still incredibly valuable. The Jets have 5 1st rounders and 3 2nd rounders over the next two years. They could get him. He's like a 60 dead cap hit but Cincy doesn't want to have a payroll anyway. They can actually trade Higgins and get out of some serious payroll issues, IIRC, because of the contract he signed. But the Jets might rather rebuild, too.
  10. I mean, he was retired. Like I really thought he was in his late 30s. He hasn't started more than 2 games in a season since 2021. I know I'm getting older but it seems like he's been in the league forever.
  11. I honestly hope I'm wrong. I'd love for him to turn into Brock Purdy 2.0, go undefeated and lead us to the NFC championship game. But I don't think this will go very well. Seattle is good, they have this game circled. They'll run it up a bit. They have a good pass rush and defend the run well. And if Darrisaw is still out (I haven't seen an update on him or Jackson yet) this could be brutal. I think it'll be pretty one-sided and the Brosmer crowd will quiet down a bit. Pessimism shall reign.
  12. Mariotta? Here's a list - https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/available/_/year/2026/position/qb Teddy Bridgewater is only 33? Guys that can start but you wouldn't be worried about replacing when JJ/pick are ready to play - Minshew? Taylor? Jimmy G? Not a great list.
  13. I'm probably a bigger fan of KOC but you do raise some interesting points. That said, I did say that KOC was limited to a type of QB - the pocket passer like Cousins, Darnold, or Mullens. Guys who would stand in the pocket and take a hit, keep their eyes downfield. Thing is, I think JJ is in that mold as well. The first drive in the Ravens game being a good example. But you're right that he does have some run tendency. Still, I think JJ's biggest problem with KOC is that he's not as good in play action. He seems more comfortable in shotgun. But we still have really small sample size issues here but tendency is he's getting worse, not better. When he gets to start again, I hope the offense looks more like the Bears game than the Packers game. Let him throw out of shotgun a bit more in longer drop backs. But, regardless, JJ has to be better. The last two games have been pretty hard to defend.
  14. Sporting news is saying that McCarthy was using smelling salts during the game. I don't see it in the video but he does seem to reach into his pocket at the end of the clip and bring something up to his nose? I dunno, if it is it doesn't look good on the Vikings. But he could also just be blowing snot out of a nostril after a big hit. https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/minnesota-vikings/news/vikings-jj-mccarthy-smelling-salts-concussion/09635103aa3bfb81904da193
  15. I think the most likely scenario is that the Vikings sign Cousins. He has an out clause in his contract so he'll be out of Atlanta. We tell him that he'll start and then have JJ or a top 10 pick at QB behind him to watch and, ideally, eventually take over.
  16. Nice article on Brosmer. https://www.dailynorseman.com/general/93163/breaking-down-max-brosmer
  17. Yeah, wins is a pretty good barometer of success. But all the anti-KAM arguments are so nuanced to the point of absurdity. He can't draft, but ignore other young cost controlled talent he's brought in. He can't draft, but ignore that he's willing to trade picks for immediate help. He can't draft, but ignore the teams success. And it also requires people to think he actually drafts, he doesn't, and that the teams actual draft results are atypical of expectations. They aren't. And it requires that you ignore how a team is constructed. But you don't like hearing that so you insult and make more strawmen.
  18. Yep, that was the play.
  19. I don't blame JJ for not pulling himself or telling anyone. Hell, he saw Allen get knocked out, take smelling salts, and come back into a game last year. I assume he thinks, like all NFL players, that he can fix whatever needs fixing. But it doesn't sound good if the protocol people missed something
  20. Starting this now because it might be the Max Brosmer game. JJ to the concussion protocol. On a fourth quarter scramble he got knocked down hard and Hock helped him up. I saw it and thought, great, now he's hurt, but he stayed in. Turns out, he might be out. https://www.dailynorseman.com/minnesota-vikings-2025-season/93156/j-j-mccarthy-concussion-protocol-minnesota-vikings#comments Brosmer starting on the road against Seattle. Good luck to him.
  21. I believe Wentz is out for the entire season. Not the short-term IR that others had been on earlier this year.
  22. I generally agree but the points you are making don't necessarily support that (and the Rams haven't won a SB in the same timespan either). If Cousins was healthy, they probably win 10 games in 2023 and you have your three straight playoff years.
  23. It is also possible that McCarthy improves but your general point is right. The last few weeks have been extremely bad. He had a QB rating of 73 after his first 3 games. His last 3 games it's been 47. That's not sustainable at all. So if continues in the sub-50 rating, we will see Brosmer. If he plays better, we won't.
  24. It's a bit odd to argue that the team can't win if they do it differently that how the Rams (for instance) are doing it and, at the same time, have won more games over that period than the Rams.
  25. Good article on the game - https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/47078333/nfl-minnesota-vikings-jj-mccarthy-justin-jefferson On JJ, it points out that "71 quarterbacks have opened their careers with at least six starts over the past decade. McCarthy ranks No. 67 in QBR (25.6) and completion percentage (54.1%), No. 66 in passing yards per game (154.8), No. 52 in off-target throws (20.6%) and No. 69 in interceptions (10) when comparing their first six starts."
